It's not the time
It's not the place
I'm just another pretty face
So don't come any closer
You're not the first
You're not the last
How many more?
Don't even ask
You're one more dead composer

Do I need you?
Yes and no
Do I want you?
Maybe so
You're getting warm
You're getting warm
You're getting warmer, oh, oh, oh
Did you plan this all along
Did you care if was wrong
Who's getting warmer now
That I'm gone

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

I'm not for you
You're not for me
I'll kill you first
You wait and see
You devil undercover
You're not a prince
You're not a friend
You're just a child
And in the end
You're one more selfish lover

Do I need you?
Yes and no
Do I want you?
Maybe so
You're getting warm
You're getting warm
You're getting warmer, oh, oh, oh
Did you plan this all along
Did you care if was wrong
Who's getting warmer now
That I'm gone

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

You're so easy to read
But the book is boring me
You're so easy to read
But the book is boring
You're so easy to read
But the book is boring
Boring, boring, boring, boring, boring
Boring me

Pray for me if you want to
Pray for me if you care
Pray for me f your want to
Pray for me if you dare
Pray for me if you want to
Pray for me if you care
Pray for me if you want to
Pray for me you fucker if you fucking dare

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

Perhaps she was someones lover, and they gave her promises that they chose not to keep, now that she can see through that, she has left, though she is still miserable

I think its about a girl who is on the outs of poplarity could have a mental disorder. And she looks at all the popular people who always seem to be happy but always have drama going on because they have no depth to their personalities. "You are so easy to read but the book is boring me." The part about Pray for me is what gives me the idea about a mental disorder.

    My thoughts:

    • Girl gets dumped by the most amazing person she's ever met.

    • Is trying to convince herself that she doesn't give a damn, never gave a damn, it'll pass and life will go on. She's been through this before and another break up is just a little bit more pain, heartache, jaded-ness, bitterness, loss of faith, getting screwed over again, etc.

    • Is pissed about how it went down. Obviously, he did something to offend or hurt her to the extreme ('Did you plan this all along? Did you care if it was wrong?' 'I'll kill you first, you wait and see, you devil under cover, you're not a prince, you're not a friend, you're just a child, and in the end you're one more selfish lover.') -- And she saw it as a great betrayal.

For me it about a girl who tries to find someone who really likes her und she like him to, but every relationship ends because the men begin to bore her very soon, become uninteresting. She unhappy and depressed, tries to compensate her emotional instability with sexual promiscuity but it doesn't help to feel better, she knows. She also plays games with the men, makes them fall in love with her but let them fall when she gets bored.

This song sounds like rejection to me XD Like someone got too many admirers and they were all... shallow or boring, and she finally got tired.

    I get the feeling of adultery, of being "the other woman" and getting tired of it. Also, knowing she's not the first woman he's had an affair with;

"You're not the first You're not the last How many more? Don't even ask"

Also knowing all along that she's just being toyed with, and ending it by saying how predictable he is "you're so easy to read, but the book is boring me"

It seems to me that it is about falling in love with someone who seemed great at the time, but then things didn't work or went to hell for some reason, ("did you plan this all along?") and now she can see all his faults clearly, and it seems like he's not as unique and perfect as she thought ("you devil undercover, you're not a prince, you're not a friend") I think the song shows that she cared for whoever the song is about (she says, "pray for me" and "do I need you? Yes and no") That's how I interpret it, anyway

a women who is constantly being approached by suitors that all want her favor -some of which threaten her for it and her constant need to reject them to protect herself

still she craves company and the company placates those around her but not the rejected suitors

she can't find anyone she can trust nor they can keep her interest

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
