Hear me out;
For I was joyful once, like everyone
Hear me out;
I must have changed sometime and all at once
'Cause it seems that nothing stays the same as certainly as me
And nothing stays the same but me

Well I have toiled and I have tamed
Constricted and constrained
Just to learn about how everyone the same
When I am old and I am lame
And ruthlessly estranged
Ask me then what I have gained from almost everyone, oh-oh

Hear me out;
For I have everything indeed
Hear me out;
I must have changed

Well I have toiled and I have tamed
Constricted and constrained
Just to learn about how everyone is totally insane, now
When I am old and I am lame
And ruthlessly estranged
Ask me then what I have gained from almost everyone, oh-oh

Hear me out;
For I was joyful once, like everyone
Hear me out;
I must have changed

    General CommentI can really relate to this song, since I always see people I know changing and am shocked when people tell me that I am a different person that I was a few years ago. Only now am I seeing the good and bad in people, and realizing that there are some very good people in this world, but at the same time some very bad people. I hope that one day that I will able to understand people and the thoughts behind their motives, and to make some sense of it all.

    General CommentI think the word "estrained" is actually supposed to be "estranged"
    This is a pretty good song. It always gets me how the words can sound so careless but very passionate at the same time.
