the sun came out this morning i was wide awake
and i made way down to the kitchen and i cut myself
a piece of my birthdaty caeke
raspberry filling in the middle
and i thought about you a little
and there was a time when you wanted me so bad
it was eating you up inside
this time has gone away

i pour myself a tall glass of milk
it was deep and cold
and i checked my driver's license i was 28 years old
and there was a time when you wanted me so bad
it was eating you up inside
this time has gone away

General CommentDoesn't this song go by another name? I could swear I've heard it called something else.

Anyhow, this is sad but pretty much typifies growing up and getting older, to the place where birthdays are not a big deal anymore and the ridiculous all-consuming loves that happen when you are young are starting to cool off. I'm glad he still has a cake with raspberry filling though, that makes me feel much better, and perhaps it is better for him if he isn't in another enormously codependent relationship for right now. This song is sweet.

General CommentMm, I found it. In the WMFU studio session the song is called Thought About You a Little.
