tap on your cap
there's a whispering breeze in town
the trees have found a voice and
you're one for fun
you're one for fun in the gloating sun
and now i'm making it in
from out a fireplace on stilts
pay less attention
the room
said crying's a fate
or whatever word you used to call it
i'm one for climb
i'm one for climb in the sun
and how for us to be so black and happy
before the souls have all been stopped
the draining lasts for you still
five jars i'm drinking our fill
the tips will sing the christmas star
our laughing heart

General CommentWhoever transcribed this was on crack. It's the same all over the internet, and there's no way it can be right.

The one I've heard goes something like this (and I'm still a little fuzzy on the lyrics, since all I can find is a live recording -- help me out!):

    Snap on your cap
There's a whispering breeze in town
The trees have found a voice and
You're one for fun in the gloating sun of man
And now I'm making it in front of a fireplace on stilts
I'm up for climbing, this time enough for us to be both black and happy
Pay less attention to those that ????
Or whatever word you used to call it
I'll drain the last from the still
Five jars and drinking our fill
It takes a single kiss to start
    A laughing heart

General CommentI'm not sure what the words are exactly, this seems kind of close, though. What I do know is that the harmonies on this song are pretty awesome, it sounds amazing.

General CommentAwesome song, as has been mentioned the harmonies in it are just amazing.

The lyrics are hard one to figure out, they could be anything really. I hear this:

    "Tap on your cap
There's a whispering breeze in town
The trees have found a voice and

    You're one for fun
You're one for fun in the gloating sun of man
And now I'm making it in
Front of a fireplace on stilts
    Pay less attention
To their sad cries of fame
Or whatever word you used to call it

    I'm up for climb
    I'm up for climbing
    Theres time enough for us
To be both black and happy
Before the souls have all been stopped
We'll drain the last from the still
Five jars I'm drinking our fill
It takes a single kiss to start
    A laughing heart."

    Regardless, awesome song.
