Calvin Johnson:
The Party had its fingers on the pulse
Now your ? counter is countin' the votes
Cinder block, a lonely room wallpapered with canned food
a cot, bible, blank, and a short wave radio

Doug Martsch:
Think about all the time you wasted
thinkin' about and workin' on your bombshelter!

CJ:
You'd rather live in a hole in the ground than pull your mind outta of one right now

A milit'ry oversite as you breath through a pipe
A civil defense waste of time

Jen Smith or Beth Ringert:
Think about all the time you wasted
thinkin' about and workin' on your bombshelter!

CJ:
*mumbles*...Lonely room
A civil defense waste of time
Bombshelter!

General CommentIt's a pretty catchy tune, I like the catchy rhythms and simple pop guitar lines. As for the lyrics, they're pretty obviously about the cold war/communism hysteria in the 50's but i think its just as applicable now, 10 years after it was written. People waste their time being cautious and forget to live a little (the unpopularity of flying after 9/11 & anti-arab sentiments) afterwards, they look back on it and see how stupid they were and all the time they wasted.

    General CommentThe lyrics are wrong.

    These are the right ones:
The party had it's finger on the pulse
Now your Geiger counter is counting the votes
    Cinder block lonely room
    Wallpapered with canned food
A cot, bible, blanket, and a short-wave radio...

Think about all the time you've wasted
Thinking about and working on your
    Perfect tan!

You'd rather live in a hole in the ground
Than pull your mind out of one right now
A military oversite as you breathe through a pipe
A civil defense waste of time...

Think about all the time you've wasted
Thinking about and working on your
    Perfect tan!

    Cinder block lonely room.
A simple defense waste of time.
    Bombshelter!
    of time...
