"Eyes Of The Insane" as written by Jeffery John Hanneman, Tomas Enrique Araya and Dave Lombardo....
A soldier's heart
Reflecting back at me
I keep seeing mutilated faces
Even in my dreams
Distorted images
Flashing rapidly
Psychotically abusing me
Devouring my brain

The eyes of the insane
On a demented campaign

Tortured spirits
Will not let me rest
These thoughts of mutilated faces
Completely possessed
Fragmented images
Flashing rapidly
Psychotically abusing me
Worming through my head

Shell shock battle fatigue
Overwhelming anxiety
Flashbacks panic attacks
Death raising its ugly face at me

Got to make it stop
Can't take it anymore
The dead keep haunting me
They just keep coming back for more

The eyes of the insane
On an demented campaign
Flashbacks panic attacks
Death raising his ugly face at me

Got to make it stop
Can't take it anymore
Death's face keeps haunting me
It just keeps coming back for more

Got to make it stop
Can't take it anymore
Death's face keeps haunting me
It just keeps coming back for more

A soldier
Of misfortune
I owe my pain an suffering
To this hell
These demons
Ripping through my soul
Evil's relentless hostility
Won't let me sleep

Shell shop battle fatigue
Devastating insanity
Flashbacks panic attacks
Death's riding he's coming for me

General CommentBasically, a soldier who has seen so much war that he's gone insane - and thus has the 'eyes of the insane'.

General CommentI think it could just as easily refer to media coverage of the occupation of Iraq. Especially the first few lines....

General CommentIt's a song inspired by the true story of a U.S. soldier who committed suicide shortly before he was due to return home from Iraq.

General CommentBest of luck to you lostinmetal. the video is well made too--pretty disturbing yet unfortunately truthful effects of war, true representation of the song itself.

General CommentThis is basically what happens to 25percent of all soldiers that return home, war for fucking oil.

General CommentIm pretty sure its about a soldier who's been brainwashed so much, when he goes to battle he starts getting flashbacks of his past life
If u watch the video, it shows him strangling some dude for his gas-mask but then it shows his flashbacks of holding (spinning, playing) his little girl
    Anyone agree?
