"Denouncing November Blue (Uneasy Writer)" as written by and Timothy Seth Avett Scott Yancey Avett....
November came and went,
Like a summer that I spent,
With a no name girl that walked in jelly shoes.
I returned to my home,
With a heart part made of stone,
And I cried all night for a girl I never knew.
From the east it comes,
Her love and the rising sun,
And I pray each time they come, it's not the last.
You see I've got strong,
I made it through what came along,
But I can't move on for the beauty of the past.

Came across a pretty girl,
For about a month she was my world,
And I held her hand, and swore we'd never part.
I moved on, she stayed behind,
I said I'd call, she said she'd write,
We lost touch the moment I drove off.
I left town like a gambler with,
The sense of cashin' all the chips,
Before I lost them all on a bad deal.
I made believe I was in a race,
Drove ten thousand miles in seven days,
While writing a book called "Being A Free Man".
Met more people than the president,
The good times came and the good times went,
And I learned how to ignore my hunger pangs.
I looked ahead to the open road, thought about the people and what they know,
And wrote a book called "People Don't Know Nothin".
(no matter what they tell ya, man)

Once I spent my last dime,
And counted the ratio of miles to time,
I looked up to my disdain and my surprise.
I had driven my car around the world,
Ended back in the town with the girl,
So I wrote a book called "Life in Prison".
(Volume. 1)
I see that girl every now and then,
And we drink to having such good friends,
And apologize for the way it did not last.
Funny thing that it's all true,
And I'll always love November Blue,
But I turned her down for the beauty of the past.

November came and went,
Like a summer that I spent,
With a no name girl that walked in jelly shoes.
I returned to my home,
With a heart part made of stone,
And I cried all night for a girl I never knew.

General CommentStory of my life.I am very choosey. I knew a great guy for 3 weeks. We had two dates, talked a lot, he asked me on a Wed. to be his girlfriend, then told me on Sat. night by phone that it had moved too fast, too soon, and that I lived too far away for him to date me, even though I always met him halfway (about an hour apart). Everything was good up to 6 pm that Sat.,then at 8 I got the call. The worst feeling is not knowing if he would have been "the one." You see, this happened out of the blue and I didn't need or want anybody at the time. It just felt right, unlike all the others. So this song is the resolution to November Blue. It happened. Nothing to be done about it. Maybe years from now we will meet again, laugh about it, and who knows. I don't hate him though. Love this song

MemoryIn their song November Blue, they sing "You're everything I dream". The first 7 lines of that song are asking "if" which I know goes through my head when a relationship where I'm really into the girl ends when I don't want it to. I can relate to these two songs with my past relationship, only really dated for a month and she broke things off very abruptly and "for about a month she was my world" and I did cry like a baby over it because I never have met someone like her before that made me feel the way I do about her. And I sort of went through this process of being sad and "sang songs of sorrow" over her, but am just now really understanding how bad she treated me by selfishly ending things the way she did and am going through the whole "denouncing" phase right now, realizing I cared so much about a girl I never actually knew. And this song is actually really helping me, can't listen to it enough.

General CommentThis song isn't really even about a particular relationship, just some universal truths. Don't we all write a book entitled "People don't know nothing!"?

It's about not being able to lie about what every human being is all about. Love and contentment. Here's to everyone's open road!
