Last week's commensurate heartaches
had me blushed and pale
What I heard, what I understood
It was no joke
"My aim is fantastic."
Bring back the guns

It's too much for the young
and so the old throw it out
Putting blame back
where blame can settle down
My name is elastic
Bring back the guns

General CommentThis is one of my favorite songs. Hunter's voice and the simple instrumentation haunt me for days after listening to it. The lyrics are mournful, mysterious, meditative and sly, not ever completely revealing their meaning or level of seriousness. Some people may get a very concrete meaning out of the song, but I prefer to leave it as open-ended and ambiguous as possible.
