"All Hands and the Cook" as written by and Matthew Frederick/bauer Barrick....
Broke my back out in the yard.
If you don't like it
Won't you tell me?
Work all day and all the night.
Later on
Can I help it?
By the way,
It wont last.
Rain will come.
The summer's passed.

Three shots fired to call us back.
You were lost
When I found you.

After all,
You promised me
A broken nose
And twisted me.

Stop talking to the neighbor's dog.
I got a temper when its late.
Break all the windows in my car.
Burn down the room when I'm asleep.
Break out the bottles when I go.
I'll dig a hole for all your friends.

If you don't like it
Won't you tell me
If you don't like it?
Never saw it coming.
Never saw it coming.

By the way, it wont last.
Rain will come.
The summer's passed

General CommentWhy do I get the impression that Hamilton is singing about the south? Or maybe the song directs to the farmers we've yet to come to really understand. I don't know, but it has something do with work and being disapproved by the big man, regardless of how hard you work.

General CommentThe lyrics do seem to be referring to a controlling figure, like the government, or a woman. But, there are no direct references, and listening to the song, all I have to say is the lyrics just add another layer of vocalism to the band. I like this song.

General Commentsounds like a spat between two neighbors stemming from the narrator's yard work. Sounds like it got out of hand. Narrator seems pissed b/c he did a lot of work, and his neighbor only complained after he'd finished all the work.
Seems like water the yardwork was, it won't be an issue after it rains.

General CommentHaunting song - if it's about work, then it might be a veiled allusion about the pressures of the music industry.

The break in the middle lights up the entire song like a ray of light.
