I've been so many places in my life and time
I've sung a lot of songs, I have made some bad rhymes
I've acted out my life in stages with ten thousand people watching
But we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you

I know your image of me is what I hope to be, I've treated you unkindly
But girl can't you see, there's no one more important to me
So darling can't you please see through me, 'cause we're alone now
And I'm singing my song for you, you taught me precious secrets

The truth withholding nothing, you came out in front
When I was hiding, but now I'm so much better
So if my words don't come together, listen to the melody
'Cause my love is in there hiding

I love you in a place where there is no space or time,
I love you for my life
'Cause you are a friend of mine, and when my life is over
Remember, when we were together

We were alone and I was singing my song for you
And when my life is over, remember when we were together
We were alone, and I was singing my song for you
For you

Oh this song is just in some other level. This is a song written by Leon Russel in the 60s, that has been performed by several artists, but this is my favourite version so far. I love the passion Christina shows while singing it, it blows you away, it makes my weep everytime I listen to it. Probably because of the meaning, that I assume has to do with a relationship that has somehow gone bad, and it's too late to turn back time. I feel like she is broken-hearted, remembering those beautiful past times when they were so close together...no matter how much time it's been, she won't forget. She wants him to remember her as well, even when it's been so long.

It touches me in every single way. I reminds me of those friends that got in the way, just because life goes on, especially my dearest friend-first love, who has been in and out of my life for six years now. I know that even when we are (or never even were) together, he will always been something special for me, no matter what comes my way. He's always there, he is unreplaceable, and I only hope that he remembers me sometime, and that we have the chance to meet again to talk about those times...and feel good about it, and not hurt like this. Cause "I love you in a place where there's no space or time I love you for my life... 'cause you're a friend of mine"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
