"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
Ooh child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh child
Things'll get brighter
Ooh child
Things are gonna get easier
Ooh child
Things'll get brighter
Some day, yeah
We'll put it together and we'll get it undone
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter
Ooh child
Things are gonna be easier
Ooh child
Things'll be brighter
Ooh child
Things are gonna be easier

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

This song has always made me cry when things get hard, money problems and what not. Though it does eventually get me to stop crying, and start focusing on figuring out how to fix the problem/s.
I can't believe no one else has commented on this one! This song reminds me of Boyz In The Hood.
i knwo why didnt anyone comment this song its seriously one of the greatest songs ive ever heard.
No one ever comments on the really good songs! This song is beautiful and it always gives you that happy feeling, even when things are not goin your way. I especially love the end where he says "Right now..." It always makes me smile. And yes, this song was on boyz in da hood and crooklyn also.
It's a great song with a great sentiment; it does make me happy to listen to it; great for when your problems are weighing on your mind; if you focus on the future with confidence and knuckle down and get through the tough times, things will get better. Everyone needs to hear this now and again.
how universal this song is! the narrator could be anybody: Ma, Brother, Sister, Lover, Friend, anybody - what a great message, and so simple - is there a more soulful tune than this?
best song ever? possibly.
@RoboticRoosteR tough question - the message is fantastic, I have similar thoughts<br /> about Man In The Mirror - that song is also so clear - but you are correct, this is great
“We’ll put it together and get it undone” This lyric is peculiar. I thought they were saying “get it ALL done” but the lyric is “get it undone.” Songs in this era often covered difficult or political subjects with happy feelings. “Getting it undone” in 1970 referred to getting an abortion. “Put it together” would refer to putting your money together. If you look at the lyrics in terms of a woman being consoled that hopefully she’ll get the money for her abortion, it (to use a modern term) hits different.
@UniversalP Oh, wow, thank you for explaining that. Now it makes sense. What a tough situation, explained in a beauteous song.\r\nMy shild just sang this song in his Christmas festival. I was really intrigued for the meaning of the lyrics. For a person who doesn\'t understand English sould sound a Christmas carol, evoking The child. Nothing is further from real meaning.
When you hit rock bottom there is nowhere to go but up from there. There is a life full of possibilities on the horizon...
I\'ve just read the toughness of the meaning of the lyrics. This song is so beautiful, could be a Christmas carol. Maybe someone could make a 2021 version, with nativity content...
