Do you think that I'm thinkin' about you, every minute of the day
Do you think I'm cruisin' around, runnin' my life away
Do you think I forgot you, wished that we never met
Do you think that I'm wishin' that I was one man, you'd never forget

Do you think I'm trouble and out for all I can get
Do you think I'm the sweetest most wonderful man that you ever met
Do you wanna be near me, do you wish I'd stay away
If they shot me tomorrow, would you wish that they shot me today

If you knew me better, would there be any call
Would we be lovers or friends, or would you want me at all
A whole world between us builds too big of a wall
I wish that you knew me better, or didn't know me at all

Do you think that I love you, do you think I'm all right
Do you think that I'm lying awake, thinkin' 'bout you every night
Maybe you think I'm crazy and maybe you're right
I think you've called me a sinner, I wish that you knew me better

If you knew me better, would there be any call
Would we be lovers or friends, or would you want me at all
A whole world between us builds too big of a wall
I wish that you knew me better or didn't know me at all

If you knew me better, would their be any call
Would we be lovers or friends, or would you want me at all
A whole world between us builds too big of a wall
I wish that you knew me better or...

General CommentThis song so rocked. I was in Jr HS when it came out, and it perfectly summed up 'teen angst'. Also, I have never seen this line transcribed correctly, but it's NOT "I think you called me a sinner", which makes zero sense, but "I think you caught me off-center." Sorry, irks me, seen bad transcribes of that on several sites.
Also, the line, "If they shot me tomorrow, would you wish that they shot me today?" is so cooly, darkly funny.
Head East didn't go very far, but they sure had some awesome singles.
