"30/30-150" as written by James Donald Root, Shawn Economaki, Josh Rand and Corey Todd Taylor....
I am a dominant gene, live as I die
Never say forever cause forever's a lie
I can see right through it so I can't ignore you
The story changes but the ending will bore you

I tried to tell you but you simply obeyed
They didn't listen so they threw you away

Now all you do is talk,
I don't wanna hear your bullshit
Is this what you want?

This is where it begins
This is where it ends
This is where it begins
And this is where it ends

They called us a dead generation,
They told us that we wouldn't survive
They left us alone in the maelstrom
As you can see we're all plenty alive
We know where you are and were coming
Lets see you say that shit to our face

Thirty
Thirty-one fifty remembers thirty
Thirty-one fifty hates

In my own peculiar way I feel mercurial
Before I get ahead of myself again
I know the where but I still don't know the when

You wanna live in a one sided world
Be prepared for a whole world of hurt
Now with the grand facade
I don't want to be an angel
I just want to be God

They called us a dead generation,
They told us that we wouldn't survive
They left us alone in the maelstrom
As you can see we're all plenty alive
We know where you are and were coming
Lets see you say that shit to our face

Thirty
Thirty-one fifty remembers thirty
Thirty-one fifty hates (hates)

Oh
I am a fucking machine fueled by the past
Memory's a memory until it's a fact
I can bury the hatchet and let some shit go
But I got too many grudges to hold!

Saw a lot of people die in the end
I never want to walk that road again
Now I will never give up
I don't want to have it all,
I just want to have enough

This is where it begins
This is where it ends
This is where it begins
And this is where it ends

They called us a dead generation,
They told us that we wouldn't survive
They left us alone in the maelstrom
As you can see we're all plenty alive
We know where you are and were coming
Lets see you say that shit to our face

Thirty
Thirty-one fifty remembers thirty
Thirty-one fifty hates (hates)

General CommentNot that I'm some Corey Taylor expert or anything...

But the lines "I don't want to be an angel; I just want to be God" does make sense, even if Corey is a follower of the Law of One.

I don't know if Corey is a follower, but the Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey states that God is you. You treat yourself as God. Therefore everyone is equal.

I believe the song is Corey giving a f*** you to everyone that said that he wouldn't be successful with his music... as well as I believe that its also meant to be interpretted by the individual. By that I mean the idea that its about staying true to yourself.

Corey stayed true to his self by not giving up on music and he wanted people to be able to use this song as inspiration to do the same. If someone is on your back about something because they don't like it then give them a big f*** you and do it.

Song MeaningFirst of all, it's a rifle bullet. Second, it was also Corey Taylor's physical dimensions in highschool- 30 in waist, 30 in pant leg, 150 lbs. It is also a code for "total nuclear annihilation", a possible reference to growing up in the Cold War. This is supported by the wavelength of residual radiation from fission being 30/30/150 nm.

General CommentIt has something to do with god and the church. Hear me out...

Isaiah 30:30 says The LORD will cause men to hear his majestic voice and will make them see his arm coming down with raging anger and consuming fire, with cloudburst, thunderstorm and hail.

Psalms 150 says "Praise ye the LORD"

When the song mentions maelstrom which does means a large, violent whirlpool (god’s wrath in Isaiah 30:30)

Grand facade means a false, superficial, or artificial appearance or effect (the church, bible, etc...)

Oh well, I'm tired of typing so you can look into it more yourself and check the facts and then decide for yourself. I believe 30:30-150 refers to a hypocritical god and church. 30:30-150 remembers, 30:30-150 hates.

Song MeaningCorey explained the meaning in an interview. 30x30 was his waist and length of his pants and he weighed 150 pounds in high school. The songs about people telling him he'd never be anything and this is his 'fuck you' to them.

General CommentWow lol. 30-30-150 is him as a kid. He wore a 30/30 pants size and weighed 150 pounds. He is saying he remembers all the crap people talked about him and how he could never make it. Now he is basically saying **** you all.

General Comment30/30 was his pants size in high school and he was 150 pounds. This song is talking about how everyone told him he would never make anything of himself and he's talking about how far he's come since the kid he was in school.

General CommentI got bored reading through all of the comments and didn't see this through about 4 pages so here's what I think it is. It's describing a kid. He weighs 150 lbs and wears 30/30 jeans. This fits way better then the gun theory. 30/30 150 is a young, tall, and skinny kid that gets picked on. I'm a dominate gene is him thinking, I might look like nothing, being 30/30 150, but inside I'm a beast. It's also a play on words. I'm a dominate gene, but the 30/30 is referring to jeans. I think Corey is a lot smarter then you think.
