SOMEBODY

They all laughed at me
when I told 'em someday I would be
somebody famous, somebody smart
someone who could make the Red Sea part
I'd be bigger than Jesus, that's right

They all who turned their backs
when I told the children to relax
not to be nervous, not to be scared
not to face the judgment unprepared
They tried to put me away, but hey
the teachings of the chosen
only reach the chosen few
They can call me crazy
but they wouldn’t if they knew

If you were me, wouldn’t you wanna be
somebody too?

I was small and weak
I could barely find the words to speak
what I was seein', I couldn't say
I was never right up on display
I could hardly believe it, oh no
But I found the strength within
comfort on the color of my skin
I was a danger of their success
caught on the emotional express
I wasn’t coming or going, and so
I spread my arms in front of all my disciples and I flew
and I locked myself away inside a room
and I went through

Tell me, if you were me
wouldn’t you wanna be, somebody too?
Somebody who, wanted to do
something new?
And if you were me
and you were locked in a room
you weren't older than three
and you were told to be wise
by another man's voice that you did not recognize
and you swear, you can hear your mother's voice
on the other side somewhere and she cries
she cries and you can never do a thing but close your fucking eyes and
look inside (x3)
your heart, its gold
look inside (x3)
your heart, it's...

They all ran away
when I told something I would play
songs that move 'em, words that'll shake
every single fucking one of them awake

Thought that they could ignore me, oh no
'cause if I can change one mind
then everyone will follow close behind
and no one'll ever stay in one place
not long enough to recognize my face
and they will lay before me, because
the strength of some accomplishment will penetrate ‘em deep
Look down deep inside to find that place to fall asleep

So tell me, If you were me
wouldn’t you wanna be Oohh... somebody too?
Somebody who, wanted to do
Ohhhh...

and if you were me
and you were locked in a room
you weren't older than three
and you were told to be wise
by another drunk voice that you did not recognize
and you swear, you can hear your mother's voice
on the other side somewhere and she cries
she cries and you can never do a thing but close your fucking eyes and…

look inside (x3)
your heart, its gold
look inside (x3)
your heart, it's gold
look inside (x3)
your heart, it's gold

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
