"Baby Hold On" as written by and Gary Michael/maines Louris....
Hey, it might never be the same
We might never live those days gone by
But we can try

Good morning
Let's kick the babies out of bed
How 'bout you and me, instead hanging on
Not up and gone

[Chorus]
(Baby, hold on)
Let's start this over
(Baby, hold on)
We're not much older now
(Baby, hold on)
If you still see what I see
Keep holding on
Hold on to me

Baby, it's good to see you smile again
I know we can't escape
So let's pretend
We're someplace else

It's a new day
Let's look at all we've got
It's everything we thought
We ever wanted
It's beautiful

[Chorus]

I look across the room and catch you staring at me
And see the love we almost left behind
So lead me by the hand, and let's make up
Let's make up for lost time

(Baby, hold on)
Let's start this over
(Baby, hold on)
We're not much older
(Baby, hold on)
If you still see what I see
Keep holding on

(Baby, hold on)
Hold on to me
(Baby, hold on)
Just hold on to me
(Baby, hold on)
Hold on to me
Keep holding on

Hey, it might never be the same
We might never live those days gone by
But we can try

General CommentI think it's about someone who is in a failing relationship after years of marriage and how he wants to just give up, but she wants to keep trying, and hold on. She admits it will never be the simple puppy love ever again, but they can try to maintain their love and relationship.

General CommentDefinitely about moving through the stages of love, especially in a commitment such as marriage. There may never be those days of full-on, no-holds-barred, unbridled passion and bliss, that's just what happens after time. But you can always try.

Inspirational, but also practical. A great song for remembering that there's still a life and love beyond the infatuation -- it's just different, and if you work for it, it can still be blissful.

Trading fidelity for the uncertain butterflies of the first weeks together, history of years of growth and understanding as opposed to the novelty of learning and discovery, and the satisfaction for being with the one you love over time, growing together through your trials, and reveling in the memories of when you first became one.

General CommentTo me this song means not giving up on love. I love how "keep holding on" can mean holding on to the relationship, or it can be taken literally.

General CommentWhat a song! It's my favorite on the album and I can't get enough of it! Anyone in a relationship can get so caught up on life's treadmill (work, kids, etc.) that one day, you wake up and wonder if there is enough love left to sustain the relationship. You have to refocus and fight to hold on.

General CommentGotta add, I love what hvgricks said.

How one day you wake up and wonder where the passion went; when it suddenly became bills and work, who's going to call about the broken appliance, maybe if you rearranged the living room it might revive the place, or how you're suddenly as thankful when your partner spontaneously cleans the kitchen as when he used to surprise you with roses.

Love ... growing up, I guess. Just the reminder that the morning shower CAN be a candlelight bath, and why not watch your favourite show tonight with some wine and gourmet cheese? Romance only dies if we let it. Thus, we can always hold on.

General CommentCan these girls make a bad song? This is one of my favorite songs of the album, and is definitely one of their best ever!

I agree that it is about seeing the beauty in a relationship again, and overcoming the wash of time.
