"Sister" as written by and Kate Marie Nash....
Pass the time with you in mind
It's a rather quiet night
Feel the ground against my back
Counting stars against the black
Thinking bout another day
Wishing I was far away
Whether they were dreams or worries
You were there with me

Sister, I hear you laugh
My heart fills full up
Keep me please
Sister, when you cry
I feel your tears running down my face
Sister, Sister keep me

I hope you always know its true
I would never make it through
We could make the sun go down
Just by walking away
Playing like we used to play
Our kingdom will never go away
Feel you beating in my chest
I'll be dead without

Sister, I hear you laugh
My heart fills full up
Keep me please
Sister, when you cry
I feel your tears running down my face
Sister, Sister will you keep me?

I would never make it through
Hope you always know its true
You could make the heaven's fall
Just by walking away

Sister, I hear you laugh
My heart fills full up
Keep me please
Sister, when you cry
I feel your tears running down my face
Sister, Sister keep me

General CommentThis is the Old Sister from 3/8/94. The lyrics are close, but some are really indistinct, so I just gave it my best shot.
There is also a new Sister which doesn't sound very similar to the old one.

General CommentI love this song, although it was only performed once, and it was completely improvised, it is very powerful. Davs performed this song only a couple of weeks after his sister was murdered. The lyrics covey dave's sorrow concerning the loss of his sister, very powerful and ver emotional.

General CommentDave sang this last night as the first song of his encore last night in St. Louis to kick off the summer tour. He walked out, just him and his guitar. The place went dead silent and he told the story of how he always believed that he and his sister who died back in South Africa were the same. He believed God (or whoever it is, his words) took her heart and gave it to him and she got his heart. He said I have only done this song a could of times so bare with me on this one. He went into it. It was a powerful and amazing song. Reminded me of my brother who died in 2000 from cancer at 29. I was the only one who could have saved him as our bone marrow was matched perfectly, the only greater match would have been if we were twins. I always felt as if I will always have a piece of him and he a piece of me.

General CommentThis is actually a separate song from the new Sister, rockslide. Both seem to about Anne, though. There are a few similarities between the songs, but for the most part, they are very different.

Here are the lyrics to the new Sister: dmbalmanac.com/…
