can't you tell me
don't you know it
can't you see that i,
don't you know that i've been here way too long
to keep this one
to keep him strong again

did you know that i
can't you see that i've seen this
all i've felt before
no success and you lost your way.
better listen to a distant warning
and loss and drifting.
yeah, over and over and over and over again

fine disaster
fine disaster
fine disaster
take it in my eye
put it in my hand
wanna see this face
wanna understand

fine disaster
fine disaster
fine disaster
take it in my eyes
push it down my throat
i wanna get you there
i wanna see you choke

can't you tell me
did you think that
maybe there's some way
maybe there's some way
i can get to you to see this right
to prove this one more time

better think that i,
don't you know that i've been a reasonable man?
disciplined in your hand
outside, been outside your house
in your car
around your place, i stop there
over and over and over and over again

i find disaster
you find disaster
i find disaster
put it in my hand
put it in my hand
i wanna see your face
i want to understand

fine disaster
fine disaster
fine disaster
take it in my eyes
push it down my throat
i want to see you there
i want to feel you choke

can't you tell me
__
that you need more time
we'll do this one more time
they had fell for you but now they don't
so you can just go home

you stuck a thimble in my hand
you eat your grapes
to __ dead

?

    General Commentah no comments?
    i adore this song.
The pre-pubesentcy (not a word but whatever) of it all is really great actually. Conor Oberst is so young in this song and i find it funny when he sings the line "don't you know that i've been a reasonable man?" since hes not really a "man" yet.
This song shows talent, and i love the double layer on "fine disaster"
    beautiful.

General CommentI love this song! Soo good! lol.
His voice was actually really good for how young he was, and it actually seemed stronger and more in tune when he was in Commander Venus than it is in Bright Eyes haha. imo anyway.

General CommentOh, the memories.. Commander Venus!

I was thinking the same exact thing about the "reasonable man" line. I always giggle. They're men now, though. Here, not so much.
