And I've been spending too much time in California
Where your feelings change but seasons never do
And in my dream last night I felt a storm was coming
But awoke to sunny skies of baby blue

And I call her up to let her go today
For a moment thought it easier then being away
But through the tangled thread the needle finds a way
And I'm asking her to stay

And I've been spending all my time composing letters
To a girl who lives a thousand miles away
But writing never takes the place of living
And I need her arms, I need her smile again

And she called me up to let me go today
For a moment thought it easier than being away
But through the tangled thread the needle finds a way
And I'm asking her to stay

Won't you stay?
Won't you stay?

General CommentThis song is about a guy whose girlfriend lives very far away. He needs her sooo very badly but cannot be with her due to the distance. He knows she feels this way too. So her calls her and tells her she can leave him if she so desires, but he really wants to continue the relationship.

Verse 1: The guy lives in Cali, far away from his lover. He dreams about this problem coming to an end. But when he wakes up, everything is fine, she deals with the fact that he isn't there.

Chorus: He's calling to tell her it's ok if she wants to leave him. He doesn't want to do that but he thinks he needs to give her the offer. In the end of the chorus, he gives her the option to leave but he really wishes she would stay with him still.

Verse 2: He's been writing her letters to keep in touch with her. The letters never make up for the fact that he's not there though. He needs her touch, he needs to be with her.

General CommentYeah that's pretty obvious meaning to this song.

"But through the tangled thread the needle finds a way
And I'm asking her to stay"

His feelings for her are more powerful then his reason, he knows she should go but he still wants her. I actually just heard of this band, looks like they are going places.
