"Momentary Thing" as written by and Alan/harman Byrne....
Is it nothing
Or less, or less, or less
Worth holding on
I guess, I guess, I guess

She's taking off her clothes again,
Says, "Let the whole world see."
She's cutting off her hair again,
Says, "This is all of me."

After all, well, isn't this
Just a momentary thing
It's not like it's permanent
Or any heavy thing

Shut me up
I guess, I guess, I guess
Stirring me up,
Yes, yes, yes

It's at the point of breaking down,
Cause there's nothing left to say
I think you waste your sweetness,
I think the whole thing blew away.

After all, well, isn't this
Just a momentary thing
It's not like it's permanent
Or any heavy thing

Not like I hoped,
Not like I dreamed,
Not like I prayed, hoped for this

Not like I'm hooked up, hooked up, hooked up, hooked -
It's not any heavy thing
It's not any heavy thing
It's not any heavy thing
It's not any heavy thing

Cause we'll get along, yeah
We'll get along, yeah
After so long
After so long
After so long
After so long
So long

General CommentThis song is great. (I'm guessing a lot of people who love it currently heard it on veronica mars?)

    it's just a gorgeous song.

General CommentHeard this song on Veronica Mars also. Such a gorgeous song.

First off the lyrics in the chorus are:
    It's not like it's permanent

    not

It's not like I expected it

I get the idea that its about these people who are just going through all this shit, barely hanging on. And finally the girl in the song just decides she's going to stop playing all the games and be completely open. Hence,
"She's taking off her clothes again, says 'let the whole world see.' She's cutting off her hair again, says, 'this is all of me"

And basicly, he's saying that she totally threw him for a 180. He's trying to convince himself that them being together is just a fling, nothing serious or permanent.

    So great.
