"Warlocks" as written by and Chad G Smith Michael Peter Balzary....
Warlocks in wonderland
I've gotta megatropolis in my hand
And a, subterranean marching band
Makin' noise for the man in the Vatican
And a

A little package and off we go
Oh, ticky ticky tackita tic tac toe
I know, everybody's Eskimo
We've got another thing coming
And that's our show, well

Every night I go looking for you
Everyone in the world adores you
A little pocket of something kind
To find your reason
Coming up on it everyday for
Look at me and it's what I stay for
A little locket of fantasy
That we believe in

Lilacs and contraband
I've got Santa Monica in my hand
A little, Beatlemania when I can
And I've got two big bags of old Japan

Ring side and blow-by-blow
Another, main event at the old rainbow
We're comin', right on top of the tupelo
When she looks just like Brigitte Bardot

Every night I go looking for you
Everyone in the world adores you
A little pocket of something kind
To find your reason
Coming up on it every day for
Look at me and it's what I stay for
A little locket of fantasy
That we believe in

Make a deal with Uncle Weezer
Sign your name to claim
China Chow will try to please her
Sweetness came from Jane

Warlocks in wonderland
I've gotta, Rockapotamus in my hand
With a, happy ending that's made of sand
With a little bit of lovin' is all I can

Every night I go looking for you
Everyone in the world adores you
A little pocket of something kind
To find your reason
Coming up on it every day for
Look at me and it's what I stay for
A little locket of fantasy
That we believe in

Every night I go looking for you
Everyone in the world adores you
A little pocket of something kind
To find your reason
Coming up on it every day for
Look at me and it's what I stay for
A little locket of fantasy
That we believe in

General Commentgreat song, good funky bass riff, could ALMOST have been from the earlier stages...

well its got references to different coutries from around the world. and 'beatle-mania'... maybe it's about the way bands and things can become like world-wide thing, but that doesn't really fit... i don't really know...

General CommentHe's searching for something or someone.. his fantasy. he has the past and it's beautiful.. then he starts to talk about this girl jane. i think everyone thinks of her as some fantasy but ppl look for her like warlocks but all she really wants is true love. everything elese isn't really there. "Happy ending made of sand."

General CommentOn the interview DvD Anthony says that this song goes along the same lines as 'Tell Me Baby'; saying that many people come from all over the country to L.A. to try to become famous, but never making it.

p.s. its wicked chill that they got Billy Preston to play on this track

General CommentIt's like a theme song for the Chili Peppers.

    It's all about playing music.

"Subterranean marching band...Beatle mania when I can..." etc.
I really like this song cause they talk about searching for that elusive connection you make when you're playing with your audience. Every night, they go looking for that energy which everyone wants. He stays for the little locket of fantasy that the Chili Peppers believe in: playing.

Warlocks = playing music is like making magic. All of the talk about big events in big cities with big names and making noise just implies that they love playing music anywhere for anyone around the world.

This song is chock-full of fancy instrumentals, too, as a tip of the hat to the lyrics about music.

    And that's what I think.

General Commenti think this song is definetely about drugs. AK is referring to how at a point in time drugs were his life and how the job of being a musician was put on a back burner and all he cared about was the glamerous lifestyle he had.

General CommentI totally agree with JewyJewMan.

The "With a... Happy ending that's made of sand" line strikes me as the fact that his happy ending is unsure. (i.e. sand washes away).
