"The Girl's a Straight-Up Hustler" as written by Jack Bassam Barakat, Robert Ryan Dawson, Alexander William Gaskarth and Zachary Steven Merrick....
Lipstick has a way of leaving more than just a mark on my sheets,
Coloring my senses cherry red; at least for this week...
Kisses under starry night skies, talked about in song,
We play along, so bitter sweet by our design.
I'm sick and tired of writing songs about you,
This is it, this is the end

Take off your makeup and put down the camera,
Choke on the drama that makes me want to,
Tear up the pictures, the pages you've saved,
Creating a life of trends and make believe...

I've got no place in my heart for a criminal like you to dwell,
In this endeavor, make this last forever...
I'm just delirious,
You can't be serious,
You're so infamous for leaving me a mess

Take off your makeup, put down the camera,
Choke on the drama that makes me want to,
Tear up the pictures and pages you've saved,
Creating a life of trends and make believe

She gets what she wants and she breaks what she gets,
Get out while you can or she'll tear you to pieces,
"Are you having a good time sweetheart?"

Take off your makeup, put down the camera,
Choke on the drama that makes me want to,
Tear up the pictures and pages you've saved,
Creating a life of trends and make believe

Carry on home,
I'll be waiting miles and miles away,
Leaving you to be forever seventeen,
Cleaning up the messes that you've made.

General Commentjeez can you believe that these guys are only 17 years old? this song is amazing. It's definitely a sad song but WOW. It's most likely about a girl who really did tear this guy to pieces and she didn't mind doing it. The guy is a mess now because of her. Beautiful song

Song MeaningIt's about a guy who is dating a girl who is completely into the stereotypical drama of a teenage party image. The girl is only interesting in partying and having fun with others, and doesn't really care about the guy.

My InterpretationI feel like this song is about a girl being a "player," as you would call it, and going around and dating lots of guys then breaking their hearts. For example the line "She gets what she wants and she breaks what she gets" means that she always gets the guys she wants but then she breaks their hearts. Also, the line "You're so infamous for leaving me a mess" could be interpreted as it being the girl who broke his heart is famous around their school or town for hurting boys and breaking their hearts.

I love how sings that. I think he's just blowing off some steam about an ex-girlfriend that had some issues, and tried to bring him down with her.

General CommentI love the lyrics to this song. And the "She gets what she wants and she breaks what she gets,
get out while you can or she'll tear you to pieces /
"Are you having a good time sweetheart?"" part is so pretty with the music and stuff.
    Amazing song

that is exactly on the dot how i feel about someone. this song basically describes what im going through. [[except my thing is with a boi]] so i think the title should be the boy's a straight up hustler.
