"The Great Descent" as written by Steven Holt, Brock Lindow and Thomas Noonan....
I wrote this story so many days ago, and the words kept falling onto pages.
Without the loss we can't go on, and with the loss we became strong.
It's how it is, as we stare it down.

Oh my god do I think that this is the end of everything.
When everything inside wants me to feel like this is normal.

And in the quiet, the silence screams aloud. And the panic resides along our inners.
And with the tragedy we go, pushing the hell so far below.
Desperate hands cover my face.

So stay calm this way in case weâ??re needed for emergency.
And if we are weâ??ll be prepared for action.

This is how it's supposed to be.

This is how it's supposed to be.

Somebody better call a doctor.

Somebody call a doctor!

And maybe this could be the end of everything that we want. Don't panic.
And from a distance it seems that the water will wash panic away.

Oh my lord, believe.
Thereâ??s no need for emergency, but in case there is, distract it.

This is how it's supposed to be.

This is how it's supposed to be!

Somebody better call a doctor!

And maybe this could be the end of everything that we want. Don't panic.
And from a distance it seems that the water will wash panic away.

The water will wash panic away.

If this is the great descent, I wonâ??t be
Running for the exits
Running for the exits

General CommentMy opinion seems to agree with some of the others that posted .... to me it is all about losing someone close to you ... he talks about how losing someone brings your other close friends and family or whatever closer and makes you stronger after going through it... and also that when he says "its how it is, as we stare it down" its just one of the things in life that you cant really do shit about, it just happened and you have to deal with it. After that it explains how you try to act like nothings happening (like its all normal and what not) in "when everything inside wants me to feel like this is normal" although it isnt and he explains how crazy it really feels .... thereafter he explains "and from a distance it seems that he water will wash the panic away" meaning after lots of time passes you do go back to normal. It is not the same normal, it will always be different, but you will get back to some sort of norm that is not crazy like you felt immediately after.

General Commentmakes me think of water, the beginning i dunno why, i think it is about dying & how all your life you are scared of it but when u are about to most people arent afraid anymore, it reminds me of my grandparents when they dies both were ready & willing & werent scared anymore, i would love to live without that fear, i think hes saying when something does happen to him & hes embraced it he wont fight against it anymore, "the water will wash panic away"

General CommentThis is a fucking brilliant, beautiful song. It's dream like. I think it's about fate, about finding something that is meant to be and not being afraid.

General CommentThis song and some others from this album is about the 2 band members who died, one in a car crash and one was run over by a car. The song is about dealing with the pain of him losing his two closest friends and how when they died he thought everything in his life was over.

    just my opinion =]

Lyric CorrectionHere is another lyric correction:

I wrote this story so many days ago,
And the words kept falling onto pages.
Without the loss we can't go on,
And with the loss we became strong.
    It's how it is,
    As we stare it down.

Oh my god do I think that this is the end of everything.
When everything inside wants me to feel like this is normal.

    And in the quiet,
    The silence screams aloud.
And the panic resides along our inners.
And with the tragedy we go,
Pushing the hell so far below.
    Desperate hands
    Cover my face.

    So stay calm
    This way in case
    We?re needed for emergency.
    And if we are
    We?ll be prepared for action.

    CHORUS:
THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE.
THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE.
    Somebody better call a doctor.
    SOMEBODY BETTER CALL A DOCTOR.
    And maybe this
    Could be the
End of everything that we want.
    DON'T PANIC.
    And from a distance
It seems that the water will wash panic AWAY.

    Oh my lord, believe.
    There?s no need for emergency,
But in case there is, distract it.

    CHORUS

    THE WATER
    THE WATER
    WILL WASH
    PANIC
    PANIC
    AWAY
    AWAY

If this is the great descent,
I won?t be running for the exits. [2x]
