People, people, people, people
People try to put us down (talkin' 'bout my generation)
Just because we get around (talkin' 'bout my generation)
Things they do look awful cold (talkin' 'bout my generation)
I hope I don't die before I get old (talkin' 'bout my generation)

My generation
My generation, baby

Why don't you all fade away (talkin' 'bout my generation)
And don't try to dig what we all say (talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm not trying to cause a big sensation (talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm just talkin' 'bout my generation (talkin' 'bout my generation)

My generation
My generation, baby
My generation

Why don't you all fade away (talkin' 'bout my generation)
And don't try to dig what we all say (talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm not trying to cause a b-big sensation (talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm just talkin' 'bout my generation (talkin' 'bout my generation)

My generation
My generation, baby
My generation
My generation, baby

People try to put us down (talkin' 'bout my generation)
Just because we get around (talkin' 'bout my generation)
Things they do look awful cold (talkin' 'bout my generation)
I hope I don't die before I get old (talkin' 'bout my generation)

My generation
My generation, baby
My generation
My generation, baby
My generation
My generation, baby
My generation
My generation, baby

People try to put us down

General Comment:Jeremiah Black is right, she obviously doesn't have the slightest comprehension of what she's miming about. I bet she'd never even heard of The Who until her manager told her she was 'covering' this song. There should be some law stopping dumbass blonde bitches from covering classic songs.

Oh, and by the way, if you actually likes this version, I'd suggest listening to another Who song called Sally Simpson. It was written about people like you.

    General Comment:Worst. Cover. Ever.

A great song by The Who, bastardized by a stupid pop star. Why did she have to do something like this? Ugh.

General Comment:Singing "I hope I don't die before I get old" instead of singing it the proper way goes against the whole idea of the song ¬_¬.

General Comment:As far as covers go, I've heard worse (Avril's cover of Knockin' On Heaven's Door comes to mind), but as much as I try to stay open-minded about things like this the fact that she covered this song pisses me off. I'm sure that in turn will piss off somebody else, but I don't care. Her little adjustment of the "I hope I die before I get old" line is idiotic, implying that she doesn't understand what the song is about. I'm not going to even suggest that she may've done it in some kind of artistic spirit, I just think she's a dumbass.

General Comment:Yeah, changing it to "I hope I DON'T die before I get old" is just stupid. The original line wasn't talking about going out and killing yourself before you get old or something. It was talking about hoping that you could always live your life how you wanted to, to its fullest, and hoping that something would happen and you would die before you were too old to do that anymore. It's something that practically everyone wants. They want to enjoy life, not be just some other old guy in a nursing home who can't do anything anymore.
