"There Goes the Sun" as written by and Joe Pernice....
now always, i wait for you
to take this pale opaque and let some light go through
kicked the life from me, left a headless drum
crushed the rabbit cage of my skeleton
overload on "lets get lost"
scratched your farewell couplet in my window frost
kicked the life from me and non better comes
till one better comes, there goes the sun.

hope theres love where you may land
let this frost heave open up and take me in
kick this life from me till one better comes
till one better comes, there goes the sun

    General CommentGorgeous song!

He loved someone, they didn't love him back-- he suffered and felt terrible/wrecked, but still he waits for [her] to improve his life (by loving him in return, i suppose). Until she comes around, he's given up and lives miserably--"there goes the sun" (no light in his life).

    That's my take on it.

General CommentWhat a pretty song...I love the line: "Scratched your farewell couplet in my window frost." Few people do vivid imagery like the Pernice Brothers.

And I kinda agree with mmkg_28...to me, it's about a guy trying to move on after a very painful breakup.
