I am walking through your streets
I am looking in your windows
I am elemental now, you'll never even know I'm there
I am watching over you, I am living in the shadows
I am just a word to you, but I am very real and cold
Cold to all of this
Cold to how you feel
Cold to all your lucid reason

I AM EVERYTHING I AM ANYTHING I AM AUTOMATIC
I AM YESTERDAY I AM EVERYDAY I AM GONNA BE

I am all there is to know, I am all that you've forgotten
I am enigmatic now, you never even knew my name
I am dressed in tragedy, I am by design immortal
I am just the last one left, but I am always here and old
Old and very strong
Old as all you feel
Old as all the world around you

I AM EVERYTHING I AM ANYTHING I AM AUTOMATIC
I AM YESTERDAY I AM EVERYDAY I AM GONNA BE
REBORN

I am just a secret now, I am just a vague illusion
I'm a lie you tell yourself that you never truly did believe
I'm a whisper in the dark, I'm a victim and the killer
I am almost ready now, but you insist I don't exist
That I don't exist- that I don't exist, that I don't EXIST

I AM EVERYTHING I AM ANYTHING I AM AUTOMATIC
I AM YESTERDAY I AM EVERYDAY I AM GONNA BE
REBORN

i agree with pakana sielu. reborn could be the aftermath of vermilion. as corey quoted, "vermilion is the anticipation and the build-up. pt.2 is the guilt of having lived through it" i guess you could say reborn is picking up the pieces of pt.2 and realizing that life goes on

As I see it, even thought it's taking the easy way out, Corey's talking about God. I don't know where Corey stands on contangibles, but as a non believer, this looks like a semi-sarcastic look at God.

I think his not refering God but his somehow using the idea of an entity as a metaphorical way of expresing something, but I have no idea about what in the hell is this

When i listen to this song i think its about God or Jesus, "im elemental, you'll never know im there" "i am watching over you..I am just a word to you" " cold to how you feel, cold to all your loose reason" I am everything i am anything, i mean come guys, it could mean alot of things, but i really wish corey would make an acct on here and really answer these questions for us...let us know if were really getting his meaning or if were just making the song interpret what we want it to mean.

Could be about Jesus... Could be about himself...

"Old and very strong Old as all you feel Old as all the world around you" Could be very religious... Or it could be a metaphor of how touring has changed him into feeling older than he is... But it doesn't mean he's gonna retire. He's gonna keep rocking until he can't stop. No one really believed that he would make it in music. Now look at him. People tried to say "Nope. He doesn't exist at all. He's a black sheep..." and he's saying

"I am just a secret now I am just a vague illusion I'm a lie you tell yourself that you never truly did believe I'm a whisper in the dark I'm a victim, and the killer I am almost ready now but you insist I don't exist"

He had been secretly planning his... 'Musical Attack' so to say. They can say he doesn't exist all they want, but that won't stop him from screaming "MOTHERFUCKER" in everyone's face... I hope you get where I'm going. The song is very distracting.

This song is just awesome. To me it represents the darker side that we have inside us and that we push down and try to forget. The song is sang by that character who says tha he will be REBORN

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
