His landscape has been scorned with death. once a city now
Laid to ash. a decaying father has left his bastard son with his addictions at his side. chased away, consumed from his fixations, this mans life went down in flames. chased away what he's created, his hunger grows. there is no end to this life of fixations, he remains a walking corpse as his legs will move forward. for his addictions itch at his throat only to crave more of the blood he seeks. when buried, his tomb will breathe, his hands will rise from his grave begging only for sleep. dear father, i'll be wating, i've saved you a seat in hell. for this man only thirsts for blood, the blood of his child, he stands knee deep in the blood of his bastard son.

heres the correct lyrics. all in order and all that good stuff.

His landscape has been scorned with death. once a city now Laid to ash.

a decaying father has left his bastard son with his addictions by his side. chased away, consumed from his fixations, this mans life went down in flames. chased away what he's created, his hunger grows. there is no end to this life of fixations, dear father, i'll be waiting, save you a seat in hell, there is no end to this life, life of fixations, dear father, i'll be waiting, i've saved you a seat in hell

he will remain a walking corpse his legs will move forward.

For his addictions itch at his throat only to crave more of the blood he seeks. for this man only thirsts for blood, the blood of his child x4

he stands knee deep in the blood of his bastard son.

for this man only thirsts for blood, the blood of his childx2

when buried, his tomb will breathe, his hands will rise from his shallow grave begging only for sleep. dear father, i'll be waiting, saved you a seat in hell.x2

he stands knee deep in the blood of his bastard son.x2

yeah the way i saw it, famouslivingxdead had it right, but instead of the whole zombie thing or whatever it was like, after he died, his son became an alcoholic and druggy and stuff too because of his dad, and that caused the son to die, which causes the father to be "knee deep in the blood of his son" because it was really his fault that the kid died

sn-fred pretty much got the right lyrics, except after "he stands knee deep in the blood of his bastard son" instead of repeating another "for this man only thirsts for the blood, the blood of his child" twice, it should be "Only his addictions stand by his side" twice

I think this song is about a freakish father that killed his son. I can't find any info on the net about these lyrics at the moment though. This is about as raw as it gets.

I think it’s about a man that was an alcoholic or a drug addict and he was dying, but he was so consumed by the alcohol and drugs that he couldn’t think straight and it ruined his life. When he died he left it all with his son. But his fixations, as they say, would never end, and he still thought as if he was still on the drugs or alcohol, when he came back to life as a “walking corpse,” or zombie. When they say “he will remain a walking corpse his legs will move forward” they mean he’s being controlled by the drug and alcohol induced thoughts and since he couldn’t think straight he killed his son.

i think when he says walkin corpse, he means the drugs or alcohol is takin away his life which makes him almost a walkin corpse

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
