At two am, she jumped on me,
said for five months she has loved ...
"Okay, it's your turn. Say the same."
I'd like to like you like you like me
but I can't please understand.
I'm not a jerk -- but I am.

She wept and wiped her face with one hand
said that we can't be friends.
"How could you not want me. I'm hot.
Just tell me. It's okay."

Stop trying. I don't want you.
You don't want to stop trying.
You want me, well --
I want to dance.

Stop trying. You don't want to.
I don't want you. Stop trying.
You want me, but --
I want to dance.

Days do pass, still wants to talk,
says for five months, she has loved ...
Okay, you know I'm not the same.
I'd like to like you like you like me,
but I can't please understand.
I'm not a jerk -- but I am.

She weeps and wipes her face with more tears,
this time, with her other hand.
"How could you kiss me there then just go,
leave me a sample in a song."

Stop trying--trying--trying.
I don't want you. You don't want to stop trying.
You want me, well --
I want to dance.

Stop trying. You don't want to.
I don't want you. Stop trying.
You want me, but --
I want to dance.

Stop crying, I don't want you.
You don't want to stop crying.
You want me, well --
I want to dance.

Stop crying, I don't want you.
You don't want to stop crying.
You want me, but --
I want to dance.

So just dance.

Put on your boots and walk out the door.
Forget the face that you watched before.
(Don't love me.)
It's not worth the time or worth the tears.
Shut your mouth. Be a dear.
(I don't want you.)

Put on your boots and walk out the door.
Forget the face that you watched before.
(Don't love me.)
It's not worth the time or worth the tears.
Shut your mouth. Be a dear.
(I don't want you.)

Arms up.
Just dance.
Arms out.
Just dance.

Arms up. Just dance.
Arms out. Just dance.
Arms up. Just dance.
Arms out. Just dance.

Just dance.

I won't say that I love you.
I can't say that I love you.

At two am, she jumped on me,
said for five months she has loved ...
"Okay, it's your turn. Say the same."
I'd like to like you like you like me,
but I can't please understand.
I'm not a jerk -- but I am.

So just stop.

General Commentfirst comment for one of my favorite songs.

i think it's about a relationship where one loves the other more than the other loves the one. or it could be about a homosexual in a heterosexual relationship. i'm not sure, it's a little vague.

it's a great song, nonetheless. very smart. i hate dance music but i'm totally addicted to dangerous muse.

General CommentThe song is about a homosexual man turning down the sexual advances of his heterosexual girl friend. He admits that he wants to have sexual feelings for her, but he can't becuase he is only attracted to men. She also expresses anger towards him when he tells her, claiming that he led her on. He obviously feels bad about the situation, imploring her at the end to forget about her love for him and to just dance. The part where he tells her to dance could also be an expression of the kind of relationship he wants to have with her. He wants to be able to take her out and have fun without the pressure of taking her home at the end of the night or loving her.

General CommentWow this song is amazing.!!!
Ok well first off nowhere in the song does it state gender I want evidence of homosexuallness.

    I think differently.
THis song is about a girl who wants to be serious with her guy and he just doesnt feel the same.
Just like the title of the song she was rejected.
Dangerous Muse is amazing. they write genuinly from the heart and their rythms can take you away...I love how personal he gets in his song and how blatantly obvious what he's singing about is.
...he wants her to forget about him and stop persuing. so obvious.

General CommentI know this song is about a homosexual rejecting a heterosexual because mike furey wrote it about a girl friend of his who had feelings for him...but he didn't feel the same way...also, watch the video...the whole thing is about heterosexuals hitting on homosexuals who then get rejected by heterosexuals

General CommentThis song is totally about a homosexual that has a girlfriend (maybe to experiment or to see how it'd be like), and then he can't stand the relation no more. I think the lines "I'd like to like you like you like me" and "How could you not want me I'm hot" give quite a clue. Besides it seems to me that the part 'I'm not a jerk, but I am...' leaves you with the impression that he's trying to say "I'm not a jerk but I'm gay"

General CommentI used this song in my GCSE Drama piece. The piece was about a girl who takes drugs to escape from her abusive boyfriend but it brings back all these memories of her childhood. At any one time, four out of five members of the group play her demons, representing the drug, and we used this song during our dance scene when we are all the demons. We didn't use it because of the lyrics, but because of the robotic beat at the beginning. Since our drama performance which was about 10 days ago, I've fallen in love with the song and all the joyful memories of 12-hour rehearsals it brings back.

General CommentI agree on the homosexual relationship part. I also think that by dance, he refers it as a way of being a swinger and getting out there to date other people and have fun. just an opinion =)
    oh and LOVE the song.
