"50%" as written by and Jason Lytle....
Fifty percent less words
I'll be doing it in the dirt
And with nobody in my mix
Fifty percent less words in two-thousand-six

Fifty percent less chime
Mouth moving all the time
Never completed plans
Fifty percent less words, I wonder if I can

Fifty percent less words
Fifty percent less words
Fifty percent less words
Fifty percent less words

Fifty percent less words
I'll be doing it in the dirt
And with nobody in my mix
Fifty percent less words in two-thousand-six

Fifty percent less chime
Mouth moving all the fuckin' time
Never completed plans
Fifty percent less words, I wonder if I can

General CommentI can't say this is my favorite song in Fambly Cat, but it does has a certain appeal to it. I'm not really sure what it's talking about, but if I may hazard a guess, I'd say it's about keeping your writing less wordy. Also, I think the "with nobody in my mix" may refer to the fact that after the band breaks up (which did happen in "two-thousand-six") the author, Jason I presume, will be able to write more freely.

    Just a guess.

General CommentThis is my least favourite Grandaddy song, but the angst is pretty cool...

General CommentI understand this song. The angst is about breaking up the band and having to do everything on his own now.

"Fifty percent less words, I wonder if I can" speaks to his uncertainty about being a solo artist.

"nobody in my mix" only adds to the idea of breaking up the band and working it out solo.
