Calling old friends to make sure they're real talking talking
just to feel that sense of home you lost when you left last
year. distance is just numbers on a dashboard, hour thinking
about nothing but the transmission shutter you fear. I
remember what you whispered in my ear, and all the things we
tried so hard to never have to hear, like kids tighten up,
start saving for the golden year, well hey that picture it
fads day by day and the outcome's not clear.
don't think i'll see you round this winter, and my tougue's
full of splinters; i'm embarrased to admit what i've been
thinking hope keeps some afloat but for me it's no life boat
the tighter i hold on the deeper down i'm sinking. Tried to
put my finger on it but gave it my whole arm, reached out
with good intentions but i only did more harm, find ourselves
alone ever since the day were born, so we seeks someone to
sew sutures in the places where were torn

General CommentI always thought it was "traditional renditions..." rather than "tradition or renditions"

General CommentThis song was last year in a nut shell for me trying to find something to help me out of pit I had dug myself. Something would always come along, cause some emotional trauma and just leave. man. last year sucked. Of course it was all caused by me, which i was full aware of the entire time, much like the protagonist (if you will) of this song is.

    General Comment(intro to song)

The roads that stretched ahead of us, the roads that lead us here, singing tradition or renditions of the songs we sang last year. And though these times have made us stronger, the outcome's no more clear....

General CommentI identify with this song so much. Just graduated from college and my two best friends and I all went separate ways. Now I commute an hour to work and am trying to figure out my life, unsuccessfully.

"find ourselves alone ever since the day were born, so we seek someone to sew sutures in the places where we're torn"

    such a poignant line.
