will we ever find the one that we were meant to love like we want to be loved
take this flight into the sun
or did they die in a dry hump fire years before we were born
when all the hogs devoured the dogs like lightening after the storm
and her lips were wet like a rose with summer sweat
and when our eyes met i knew i was through
tiptoes on cobblestones in glass stilettos it breaks my knees when she hides her nosebleeds in my dreams as i sleep
and i know i'll never be the man that she thinks she really needs
but it don't stop me from trying to be
and i scream ice-cream
goddamn you miette goddamn
i let down my guard and lifted this heart so now it can break again
goddamn you miette goddamn
i let down my guard and there goes this heart straight out the window again goddamn goddamn goddamn godbless

General CommentThis song is all kinds of beautiful. I think the meaning is mostly obvious, then again, I could be overlooking things. I see a man who was once in love with a woman who is untamable, that, or she saw nothing of value in him. She continues to haunt everything he does, and he continues to crumble inside whenever around her.

General Commenti was recently looking at the liner notes to 'six demon bag' and found that they thank someone named "miette".

that's interesting to me. they could have still been together, he could be thanking her because he still loved her, or he could just be saying thanks for all the good material.

General CommentHonus Honus: "A girl that I was hanging out with came to me and in casual conversation told me that a boy had written her a love song. I told her I’d write a better one."

General CommentI actually think this song is about a stripper that he "fell" for one night. Strippers normally wear glass stilettos, and are associated with doing coke( hides her nose bleeds).

On a side note: I think the "ice-cream" line is actual him whispering "I scream".
