Oh!

Do you want to see the world
Do you want to see the world?
Do you want to see the world
In a different way

Yeah!

Do you want to see the world
Do you want to see the world?
Do you want to see the world
In a different way

I remember how we used to say
Writing poems in your bed sit
Finding time, that'll be the passenger
The day ,girl, you never saw me leave
The day ,girl, you stand in the way
Oh girl, never lie to me
Never, I will
Never, come away
Never, you said
Never, lie to me
Never, I will

Do you really want to see
Do you really want to see?
Do you really want to see
On your television screen?

Bumped up me, died on the floor
I am here, I'm kinda from the door
Doesn't mean I want to see you die
The day you left me in that stormy leave
The day you were, you sailing away
The day you were..
Oh girl, never come away
Never, you said
Never, lie to me
Never, I will
Never, come away
Never, you sure?

Do you want to see the world
What, what?
Do you want to see the world
What, what?
Do you want to see the what, what, what?
Do you want to see the world
What, what, what?
Do you want to see the world
What, what, what?
Yeah, do you want to see the world
What, what, what?
Well, do you really want to what, what?
Well, do you really want to what, what?
Well, do you really want to stay

I love this song. The beginning is the best as it's just so upbeat and just gets me singing everytime. I love his voice too. Great song =]

it hit me that maybe it's not a physical journey... probably it's about growing up. he feels that he is changing and if their relationship is to hold, she has to grow as a person and stop being childish and frightend of the world.

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
