Leaders come
Stand in line
Reveal your true self & conform
I sold my song
Crossed the borderline
I found something I'd never admit to

Come here
I've paid up for you
I have sold my weakness too
Come here
I split my heart in two
But you don't have it in you

Carbon soul
Transparent & played out
See you soon in non-fiction
I sold my song
My mouth was sewn
But it's coming undone & that's why I sold out

My InterpretationI think this may be about politics, or leaders in general who are paid to lie essentially, they gather profits for their campaign then lie to the people to get their votes then do nothing once there is office or run the state or country they're leading into the ground.

General CommentThis song is depressing, I don't think it's about the music industry. Probably about religion.

General Commenti always thought it was "I have sewn my wings to come here"
i think that would be much cooler

My InterpretationI agree to an extent with @EternalTearsOfSorrow regarding political / social leaders. However, I wonder if the lines:

    "I sold my song
    My mouth was sewn
But it's coming undone & that's why I sold out"

Could be about a voters apathy?? That is, they didn't really investigate the options, or let the person lead them but never spoke up against them (even if they thought they were wrong). In essence they feel like a sell out because they have allowed others to lead them when they know they are not right.
