I'm not gonna cry for the things that never occurred
So do not remind me
I'm happy to be as I was in the first place

Honey, you know where to find me
Honey, you know where to find me
Kicking away from the mundane everyday
La la la la la

The envy is beyond me
I'm not gonna pine for the things that can never be mine
Do not expect me to
I am happy to be who I was in the first place

Honey, you know where to find me
Honey, you know where to find me
Kicking away from the mundane everyday
La la la la la

The future is around me
I see it, I seize it, I use it, I throw it away
Because I'm happy to be like I was in the first place

Honey, you know where to find me
Honey, you know where to find me
Running away from the mundane
La la la la la

Oh, honey you know where to find me
Honey, you know where to find me
Honey you find how to know me
Oh, la la la la la la la

General CommentThis song was an outtake from the Southpaw Grammar sessions. An instrumental has been available for some time, but this version leaked recently online. In my opinion it should have been saved because it has so much more potential than most discarded songs, although I appreciate that it wouldn't really have fit in on the album. It could have been a b-side though, along with Nobody Loves Us and You Must Please Remember, two other great songs from the same session. I guess we'll never know why, but it anyone would like to hear it, feel free to email me.

General CommentI just got my heart broken by my best friend -- he cares about me so much, but he's in love with someone else. To me, this song is about someone trying to cope with unrequited love; he says, "I'm not gonna cry for the things that never occurred," meaning that he's not going to grieve for the relationship that never happened, and instead he's going to try to be happy without it, and to be there for the person he loves. He's basically regarding their relationship, in retrospect, as a pleasant "what-if" -- it would have been amazing, but he's not going to get broken up about something that he could never have in the first place.

When he says "honey, you know where to find me," I think it means one of two things: (1) that he's willing to be there for the person who broke his heart, so that he or she can "find him" if something goes wrong, and that he'll be there to provide comfort. Or (2) he's going to try and do other non-"mundane" things to try to forget about the relationship that never happened, and to get back to the happy person he was before.
