"Sound Of Pulling Heaven Down" as written by and Justin Furstenfeld....
Somewhere, far away from here
I saw stars, stars that I could reach (yeah)
It was a midnight, a silent twilight
Fell down, beyond the ocean beach (yeah)

I assemble all the sand that cover wedding beaches
To build a castle so your mom would have a place to stay
Behind the water slide and down the hill where heaven reaches
Land and time is left to float away (yeah)

So rest assured I have the key to every opening
To every wishing well deep that's enough to drink (drink)
I want to show you just how fascinating kissing is
When earth collides with all the space between (yeah)

I'm reaching farther than I ever have before
Leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore
I may be some sort of crazy
We may be some sort of crazy
But I swear on everything I have and more

So never look behind, there's spooky people breathing down
The world is ending there's a party by the bay
I'll wear my suit and tie, would I and I toss into
The way you put that smile upon my face (yeah)

Fill up the air balloon and ride with me
Yeah hell is just a parade (parade)
Make love like time and space Is ending
While befriending fade while luring way of putting us to shame

I'm reaching farther than I ever have before
Leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore
I may be some sort of crazy
We may be some sort of crazy
But I swear on everything I have and more

You make the sound of pulling heaven down
You brought the rain's romantic pour
You make the sound
You make the sound
Of pulling heaven down

I'm reaching farther than I ever have before
(god I've reached the top)
Leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore
I may be some sort of crazy
We may be some sort of crazy
But I swear on everything I have and more
(go go go go)

I'm reaching farther than I ever have before
(god I've reached the top)
Leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore
I may be some sort of crazy
We may be some sort of crazy
But I swear on everything I have and more
(go go go go)

General CommentI am fascinateted by this band, which i recently discovered... They have a very special style in their music and lyrics, combining hardness with sweetness. What a great energetic song with a so profound meaning. The ideal situation when 2 people are together. Just like heaven has come to earth, nomatter what others may say. (Similar meaning to ''She's my ride home'').
I am stuck to this album.

General CommentThose lyrics are incorrect, just FYI.
I love this song, and want the correct lyrics to be displayed...I think it might make more sense...
starting with "So never look behind you..."

This is from the Blue October website:
    Sound Of Pulling Heaven Down

    somewhere far away from here
i saw stars, stars that i could reach
it was a midnight silent twilight
that fell down... beyond the ocean beach

i assemble all the sand that cover wedding beaches
to build a castle so your mom would have a place to stay
behind the waterslide and down the hill where heaven
reaches land and time is left to float away

so rest assured i have the key to every opening
to every wishing well that's deep enough to dream
i want to show you just how fascinating kissing is
when earth collides with all the space between

i’m reaching farther than i ever have before
leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore
i may be some sort of crazy
we may be some sort of crazy
but i swear on everything i have and more

so never look behind you spooky people bring you down
the world is ending... there's a party by the bay
i'll wear my suit and tie we're eye to eye and toasting to
the way you put that smile upon my face

fill up the air balloon and ride with me
when hell is jealous of the rain
make love like time and space is ending while befriending
fates alluring way of putting us to shame

i’m reaching farther than i ever have before
leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore
i may be some sort of crazy
we may be some sort of crazy
but i swear on everything i have and more...

that you make the sound of pulling heaven down
you brought the rain's romantic pour
you make the sound... you make the sound
    of pulling heaven down

General CommentIt's a love song. When you're this in love, you have moments when the rest of the world just falls away.

General CommentThis is the love song from the book "New Moon" by Stephanie Meyer...I can see the connection to the story. It really gives insight to what Edward was feeling at the end of the book.

General CommentI keep thinking about what it means to be pulling heaven down, haven't nailed it yet, but I like what Hellas said " like heaven coming to earth". I'll have to think about that. But in any case this song is GREAT!

General CommentReally good! Don't really know what exactly what this one is about.... but these guys have some songs other than Into the Ocean and Hate Me, both of which are depressing, this one has the tune of a depressing song, but the lyrics are just way to good to make it depressing.

Calling You by Blue October is really good too.

General CommentThank you Beccarose, for getting the lyrics RIGHT!!!!

I always thought this song was about a man who has done something to hurt his wife (cheating?), and now she is considering leaving him and all he wants, is for her to reconsider.

    Somewhere, far away from here
I saw stars, stars that I could reach (yeah)
It was a midnight, a silent twilight
Fell down, beyond the ocean beach (yeah)

This could be describing the night he cheated.

i assemble all the sand that cover wedding beaches
to build a castle so your mom would have a place to stay

He's reminding her of the good things he did for her while they were married, before he cheated.

behind the waterslide and down the hill where heaven
reaches land and time is left to float away

This is his interperatation of their perfect house and perfect life, before everything was ruined by his infidelity.

so rest assured i have the key to every opening
to every wishing well that's deep enough to dream

Telling her that if they do divorce, it's his house and there is no way he is letting a her new man live in it.

i want to show you just how fascinating kissing is
when earth collides with all the space between

He is trying to get her to forget about everything and forgive him.

i’m reaching farther than i ever have before

He's trying harder than he ever has before to make her happy and be there for her.

leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore

He's promising to never see the women that he slept with ever again, him and his wife can just sail off into happiness together

i may be some sort of crazy
we may be some sort of crazy
but i swear on everything i have and more

people may say they're crazy to try to work it out, but he swears that he wants to make it work.

so never look behind you spooky people bring you down

Proving how much he knows about her.

the world is ending... there's a party by the bay
i'll wear my suit and tie we're eye to eye and toasting to
the way you put that smile upon my face

I think this is about him being unhappy about going to court to get the divorce(the world is ending for him, he has nothing more to live for)

fill up the air balloon and ride with me
when hell is jealous of the rain
make love like time and space is ending while befriending
fates alluring way of putting us to shame

His one last ditch effort to get her to stay with him.

you make the sound of pulling heaven down you brought the rain's romantic pour

Her crying hurts him so much, that it is like someone pulling heaven down.

General CommentJustin mentioned, at a NJ show, something to the effect of waking up and thinking about the end of the world and that this was his interpretation of it.

Obviously there's more to it. There definitely seems to be a love story mixed into it.

On the Argue with a Tree cd, he sings just the first verse, and chorus, changing it to "together we make the sound of pulling Heaven down." I'd assume that was either a "thank you" to the fans that night, or more of a connection to the love aspect of the song.

The song's one of my favorites. I feel like he's embracing the end of the world because he's so in love with a girl that he's reached that point of contentment, peace, loving...that there's nothing else he needs in life.
