"1976" as written by and Ramble John Krohn....
Istanbul.
I'm sure now.

Istanbul.
I don't buy, I own

I saw a lady falling,
I'm sure now.

Istanbul.
I don't buy, I own.

[Repeat: x2]
The sun is shining, [Marvin].

Istanbul.
I'm sure now.

Istanbul.
I don't buy, I own.

I saw a lady falling,
I'm sure now.

Istanbul.
I don't buy, I own.

The sun is shining,

I saw a lady [falling],

General CommentThese lyrics are probably wrong, "1976" is a mix between two older songs -- Sophy's "Un amor original" and Cora's "Istanbul", and the lyrics to "Istanbul" are in German.
As for the meaning... I don't think it has a whole lot of that, maybe it's got some meaning to Ramble Krohn (RJD2).

General CommentIn 1976, Istanbul, Turkey, there was a major terrorist attack in which 4 were killed and 20 were wounded by Japanese Red Army terrorists in an attack at Istanbul airport.

Roughly translated into English, through the samples, I think this song about a person thinking of traveling to Istanbul, one of the most beautiful cities in the world in order to see it's beauty. Istanbul happens to be very far from this person so they person would rather look into the beautiful brown eyes of a significant other. It is said that they eyes are the windows to the soul.

It's about admiring the beauty of another human to a point where it's like you're staring into their soul. To kill another human is a terrible thing, and unfortunately Terrorism uses the killing of other humans as a scare tactic to promote their agenda. Very sad that terrorism is real, but no matter what the human soul/spirit will never die!

Excuse my hippie rant, very good song.
