"I'm Not Dead" as written by Alecia B Moore and Billy Mann....
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
There's all these cracks
Crack of sunlight
Crack in the mirror, on your lips
It's the moment of a sunset, Friday
When our conversations twist
It's the fifth day of ice on a new tattoo
But the ice should be on our heads
We only spun a web to catch ourselves
So we weren't left for death

And I was never looking for approval from anyone but you
And though this journey is over, I'll go back if you ask me to

I'm not dead, just floating
Right between the ink of your tattoo
In the belly of the beast we turned into
I'm not scared, just changing
Right beyond the cigarette and the devilish smile
You're my crack of sunlight

You can do the math a thousand ways, but you can't erase the facts
That others come, and others go, but you always come back
I'm a winter flower underground, always thirsty for summer rain
And just like the change of seasons
I know you'll be back again

I'm not dead, just floating
Right between the ink of your tattoo
In the belly of the beast we turned into
I'm not scared, just changing
Right beyond the cigarette and the devilish smile
You're my crack of sunlight

I'm not dead just yet
I'm not dead, I'm just floating
Doesn't matter where I'm going
I'll find you
I'm not scared at all
Underneath the cuts and bruises
Finally gained what no one loses
I'll find you
I will find you

I'm not dead, just floating
I'm not scared, just changing
You're my crack of sunlight, yeah

General CommentThis song is pretty good. LOvin the way the last line is sung, btw. Anyway.

I just want to know why "floating" seems to be pronounced "floashing". It seems a bit odd to me. Oh well. Its a great song. Pink rox my little purple sox!!!

General Commenti agree with the last few comments.
i think that she would do anything for this guy that keeps leaving her and keeps coming back. she's never cared about what anyone else thought of her until him (and i was never looking for approval from anyone but you)
"and though this journey's over" she isn't dead yet, because, as she states many times, he'll be back again.
also, she plays tough on the outside and doesn't want him to know that it hurts her, because she says "underneath the ink of my tattoo, i've tried to hide my scars from you".

General CommentOh my gosh! I can't believe that no one has commented on this song! It's so great! Ok, well when I listen to this song, I think she's referring to her love for Carey Hart. It's talking about how she has been in all the wrong relationships, but she's 'not dead just yet'. She has finally found the right man for her, and she's trying to adjust. This is such a great and deep song! I LOVE IT!!

General Commenttis song has become mah favourite song of all time...i dunno if it's rite, but wen i first hurd de song i felt it's describing a very twisted relationship, in that it seems like they are not meant to be n so de guy kept going away n dat brings her pain, but she knows eventually they will be together (or she knows he'll b back) so even tho it's painful, she still lingers on..(i'm not dead..just floating)

    General CommentThe line
    Your my crack of sunlight
    and
I know you'll be back again.
Those lines Summarise the whole song, she is not in a relationship, just 'floating' between people, but she is still there and not dead and gone. She's changing, things are changing, but she knows that he will always come back for her, and that gives her hope 'my crack of sunlight'

General CommentI think there may be two people in this song, but more importantly, i think she is singing a lot of this to herself. Listen to the song with that in mind...

General CommentSeriously, only 8 comments? I think this is one of the best songs on the album.

I think this song is about a couple who is on again off again. He is always breaking up with her but she knows he'll be back again.
