My days have been better
My days have been worse
In this world of thorns
The more I keep talking
The less they keep hearing
Since I was born

And it's hard to remember
The first time we breathe
There's no trickin' time
Now I'm swearing to God
All these days I will love
'Til it's time to die
'Til it's time to die

And it goes so fast
Gotta make it last
It's so hard to remember to wait
To wait
And take a step back

I thought'd I be happy if I could just have
What I really want
You see, that's the big lie I was told as a child
Just like Santa Claus
And the one thing I've learned every time I got burned
Is to force a smile
'Cause the sting from the fire, the truth, and the liar
Only lasts a while
It only lasts a while

And it goes so fast
Gotta make it last
It's so hard to remember to wait
To wait
And take a step back

I pick up the pieces of the days I used to know
I will
Pick up the memories of the people that made it look so easy
I will
Pick up the pain there inside my heart
Was it supposed to make me grow?
I pick up the pieces of the days I used to know
I used to know
I used to know

And it goes so fast (and it goes so fast)
Gotta make it last (and it goes so fast)
It's so hard to remember to wait

And you run so fast (and it goes so fast)
Slipping through my past (and it goes so fast)
It's so hard to remember to wait
To wait
And take a step back

General Commenti just have to say that i really wish this song would have made on your shore versus beautiful life. i feel there is a lot more meaning to this song. maybe it's just personal, but i know everyone drives so fast through life. does anyone really stop to enjoy it or to look at what they have done, reflect on life? i know that it is something i wish i did more often. awesome song, very emotional. it makes me cry sometimes.
