Fragile, engulf
Come on, turn on
Penetrate without touch
Lay waste the virgin you were

Come on it barely shows
I'll grow to face your God
Consumed you'll hardly know
Atrophy of souls

Fragile, engulf
Come on, turn on
Strap in and pose for the pawn that you are
Thrusting in deeper you'll beat me
Feed on the products of filth like a fiend
Worship and praise to the screen

Come on it barely shows
I'll grow to face your God
Consumed you'll hardly know
Atrophy

Come dance with me ,
The shadows ,
In the moonlight ,
Are calling.

Strap in and pose for the pawn that you are
Thrusting in deeper you'll beat me
Feed on the products of filth like a fiend
Penetrate without touch

Come on it barely shows
I'll grow to face your God
Consumed you'll hardly know
Atrophy

Self Indulgent
Your leisure
Self Indulgent
Your leisure

Force feed
Force feed
Force feed us

General Commenthmmm, this song is extremely hard to decipher...mainly due to Jesse Haseks lyrics, they are cryptic, and i suspect this song may only make sense to him.

The title Magna-Phi gives no clue whatsoever. Phi is F in the greek alphabet i believe, but Magna does not have any apparent relevance or link with Phi.

Well, the lyrics...i have already said that they are cryptic, but i think i get the general idea behind the song.

I believe it is about someone who simply obsesses over sex, and uses other to get it regardless of the damage done to them and him/her self.

I feel there is more to this song, but it is hard to say for sure as the lyrics are a little confusing.

    General Commentatrophy (āt'rə-fē)
A wasting or decrease in the size of an organ or tissue, as from death and reabsorption of cells, diminished proliferation of cells, pressure, lack of oxygen, malnutrition, decreased function, or hormonal changes.

General CommentI believe that this song is about a porn fiend who may also be religious.

    when he says:
    "penetrate without touch"
I believe he means that although his is not physically having sex with the girl in the porn, he is still penetrating her
"lay waste the virgin you were"
may mean that although the person may be a virgin, masterbation has soiled them.
    "come on you'll hardly know
I'll grow to face your god"
shows the guilt of the person because they know it isnt right.
"feed on the products of filth like a fiend
worship and praise to the screen"
he 'feeds' on the porn and treats the screen (which the porn is on) as though it were a god
    "atrophy of souls"
he knows that doing this is immoral and it deteriorates his soul
    "self indulgent
    your leisure"
in his 'leisure' he 'indulges himself' with masterbation

this IS only my own take on it, but that is what I believe it means

General CommentYeah i thought it was a porn thing at first too, but then actually realized that it might just be someone who's glued to the TV 24/7... watching infomercials at 4am, and skewed news reports feeding you utter crap.

I think the porn reference, however, applies heavily to the name. Since phi is the golden ratio, it implies perfection, and "magna" means extreme, maximum. Pornography often distorts our view of reality by showing us people with perfect bodies (sometimes with ratios that far exceed the phi proportions), having unrealistic intercourse.

General CommentI like that, Service-to-busy... Magnify, as in overexamining, as in what all of us are doing trying to wade through these very cryptic lyrics... ^_^

General CommentAbout someone who is addicted to pornogaphy. Can't stop watching it and has different veiws of reality due to the over looking. Magna-Phi (pronounced magnify) Which like i said is looking at something closely, Phi implies perfection, brilliant song title.

General CommentThe other thoughts about someone being addicted to pornography is a thought but Jesse always goes deeper into his songs and has a huge connection with God in all his songs. What I believe he's trying to talk about in this song is not only "lust" like pornography but I believe it digs deeper into each of the 7 Deadly sins.

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity. "Come on, turn on
Strap in and pose for the pawn that you are"

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. "Self Indulgent, Your leisure, Self Indulgent, Your leisure. Force feed, Force feed, Force feed us"

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
"Come on, turn on, Penetrate without touch, Lay waste the virgin you were"

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath. "Thrusting in deeper you'll beat me. Feed on the products of filth like a fiend"

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.
    &
Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
"Come on it barely shows, I'll grow to face your God,Consumed you'll hardly know
    Atrophy of Souls"
