"Fraud in the 80s" as written by Kori Gardner Hammel and Jason Edward Hammel....
Don't put your hand in the pockets that feed you
You might not get it out
Remember the weight of the yellowish night
No cat is for this dull world

I spent a long time trying to see through
People trying to call me out
Remember the weight of the glorious night
That's just so we drink it in

See the glow up above
See it glow telling us to reign the streets of London
Like the lords of other towns
The glistening of make-up helps to construct a better clown

And you will surely find this news pleasing to your ears

See the glow up above
See it glow telling us it rained the streets of London
Like it pours on other towns
But the glistening of make-up helps to construct a better clown

And you will surely find this news pleasing to your ears

You can surely try to be more alive

General CommentOn Subterranean the band members said it was a dis track about new bands coming out that sound like 80's bands. They said these new bands were unoriginal and "no longer needed"... but I really don't see that in the lyrics at all.

General CommentI can see what Muffinhead is saying in te lyrics a little. For example, the first two lines "Don't put your hand in the pockets that feed you / You might not get it out" could be the band telling these pseudo-80's bands that it's ok to draw influence from 80's bands, but to be careful not to get too drawn into that and end up not being able to escape the 80's sound... or something (I'm bad at explaining things)

Also, the last line "You ould surely try to be more alive" is more evidence of this.

General CommentFraud IN the 80s makes me think these "poser" bands aren't current bands but rather bands back then that tried too hard to be like bands that were big at the same time. Yikes, was that a run-on sentence or WHAT?! Heh
