"Good News And Bad News" as written by and Jane Marshall....
Good evening, sir.
I have both good news and bad news.
What do you want to hear first?

But before you open your mouth
And give me an excuse
To strike you down
With a bright lighting bolt,
Let's just say that before you choose,
You should know that either way you lose.
It's a tough choice, I know.

But that's how it goes.
"Well if I have to know today,
Give me the good news first."
The good news is that it's the end of the line,
And all things heal with time, so just let go.
The bad news is that while time heals all wounds,
It will eventually be the thing that kills you.

Look, I know
I can't live my life without eventually trusting
In something bigger.
It's just so hard
For me to let things go,
Even though I know it's beyond my control.

It's a tough choice, I know.
But that's how it goes.
"Well if I have to know today,
Give me the good news first."

The good news is that it's the end of the line,
And all things heal with time, so just let go.
The bad news is that while time heals all wounds,
It will eventually be the thing that kills you.

And what's so wrong with that?
Living forever is overrated.
And after we take the first step towards
Forgiving ourselves,
You know what happens?
We're never the same.
No, never again.

It's a tough choice, I know.
But that's how it goes.
"Well if I have to know today,
Give me the good news first."

The good news is that it's the end of the line,
And all things heal with time, so just let go. [Repeat x2]
The bad news is that while time heals all wounds,
It will eventually be the thing that kills you.

And what's so wrong with that?
Living forever is overrated.
And after we take the first step towards
Forgiving ourselves,
You know what happens?
We're never the same.
No, never again.

General Commentjust saw them tonight in cincinnati. It's a pretty self explanitory song. they are tying to get u to let go of everything. Don't thinkbuot yourself, u will die eventually but while u are here: make the most of it.....very eloquent words, my explanation doesn't do it justice.. If u are ever at their concert and they play this song for u then just let go oh o oh o oh!!!

General CommentIt's a doctor telling a person they're going to die from [disease]

"good evening sir, i've got both good news and bad news. what do you want to hear first?"
then he says that, before you chose, just know that either way you lose.

And if the guy has to know today, "Give me the good news first."

"The good news is that it's the end of the line, and all things heal with time. so just let go."
He's saying that there's nothing you can do, so just let it go and you'll feel better in time.

"he Bad News is that while time heals all wounds,
it will eventually be the thing that kills you."
Yeah, you'll feel better about it with time... but it'll kill you with that same time.

General CommentWhen it says "so just let go.", I'm sure a clip from a movie says "let it go" too.
