@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
I've run out of complicated theories
So now I'm taking back my words
And I'm preparing for the breakdown
Your t-shirt's lost its smell of you
And the bathroom's still a mess
Remind me why we decided this was for the best
Because I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you
Love...
I know the distance is a factor
But I stretch as often as I can
My goal's to reach your hands any day now
Please don't blame me for trying
To fix this one last time
I have a hard time as it is
Because I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
Don't act like you don't know me
It's still me I've never changed
I'll be here when you come back
And I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you
Love...
So now I'm taking back my words
And I'm preparing for the breakdown
Your t-shirt's lost its smell of you
And the bathroom's still a mess
Remind me why we decided this was for the best
Because I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you
Love...
I know the distance is a factor
But I stretch as often as I can
My goal's to reach your hands any day now
Please don't blame me for trying
To fix this one last time
I have a hard time as it is
Because I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
Don't act like you don't know me
It's still me I've never changed
I'll be here when you come back
And I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you love
I miss you
Love...

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Midnight

Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms.
“Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
relationship has ended and she can't remember anymore why they broke up....
really beautifull song
Yeap, They both decided to end the relationship as he is maybe moving/ going away/leaving? something like that. There's too much distance between them to keep up the relationship. but ofcourse she misses himterribly and is still reaching out for him, though the ''Don't act like you don't know me It's still me I've never changed I'll be here when you come back'' implies he might not feel the same, she's waiting for him, she'll ''be here when you come back''.
''Your t-shirt's lost its smell of you and the bathroom's still a mess remind me why we decided this was for the best'' Beautiful.
Anyone could relate to this song, its truely underrated and should be heard by all who are in her situation. Awesome song
I think that's right on. It reminds me of a long distance relationship that they maybe thought in the begninning wouldn't work out but she misses him and is willing to do anything to get him back.
this is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. She expresses her feelings so well. I love when she says: "remind me why we decided this was for the best Because I miss you love" And I agree with "thenothin"
She has such a beautiful voice. This song and 'Sorry' always give me chills.
This is one of my favorites. They both decided to end their relationship due to the distance. She's having a really difficult time dealing with the end. She's telling him she misses him and that she regrets he decision. "Don't act like you don't know me. It's still me I've never changed. I'll be here when you come back" really gives me chills.
this song totally... oh god. it's amazing, makes me cry every time i hear it. reminds me of lots of things i once knew as wel.. and yes pretty much, very so on the relationships.
It's about how she ended a relationship because the guy moved away and she's having a really hard time coping with that fact. I also think that the guy in the song is maybe trying to forget her to make things easier for himself thus the lines:
Don't act like you don't know me It's still me I've never changed I'll be here when you come back
I pretty much agree with what is said here, except for the 'distance' part. I think this is much more figurative, in the sense that she is/was not able to fully open herself up to her (former) lover, although she loves him very much and is trying: "I stretch as often as I can, my goal is to reach your hands any day now".
