Well if you'd like to know what pop stars have for tea:
Ask Johnny Dee,
and in which motor car it's safe to be seen.
Ask Johnny Dee,
and would you like to know what pop kids wear in the sea?
Ask Johnny Dee -
and tell me, who is the girl that plays the tambourine?
She just came to be
close to Johnny Dee,
to say
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba?

Why don't you tell me, tell me Mr. Dee,
tell me who is the girl that plays the tambourine?
She just wants to be
Close to Johnny Dee ...
And would you like to know who's No. 1 in our hearts?
Johnny Dee!
Yes, Mr. Pop's at the top of our hearts -
(Johnny Dee)
and would you like to know where we're staying tonight?
With Johnny Dee -
and so is the girl who plays the tambourine ...
Come on now, tell me, tell me, Mr. Dee,
why don't you tell me, tell me, Mr. Dee,
why don't you tel me, TELL ME, Mr. Dee!
Tell me please, tell me please Mr. Dee!

General CommentI like this song very much, it's so "light" and has an interesting story... to me, it feels as if the narrator is a bit in awe, maybe even jealous on "johnny dee" who seems to know everything, get all the girl's attention and is the "the man". In the end, it's as if the singer desperately asks johnny to share that secret with the other mere mortals. That's how I see it.
