"At this Velocity" as written by and Geoffrey/keeley Rickly....
Okay
We were safe, now we're paralyzed
Suspended in flight
At this speed it makes no difference
Where I start and where I end
Or if we're sitting in an emergency aisle

We could be dead, complete the equation
Our names are X and N
We have no value in these calculations

Placed on a plane, pointed straight down
Traveling at 500 feet per second
5000 feet from the ground

How long will it take us to hit
How fast will we start the disintegration
Don't die now, just keep moving
Don't die now, just keep moving
How long will it take us to hit
How fast will we start the disintegration

We could be safe here forever
Floating in the clean blue air
Somewhere between the sun that gives us light and the ground that puts it out

And we'll kneel in the aisles
Press our hands together and close our eyes
Speak these words so softly
To the black box, and it goes:
Mother, father can you hear this?
I want to thank you for all of your sweetness
I'm not coming home, I'm never coming home

General CommentDoes anyone else hear "No time left" instead of "Don't die now"?

    General CommentIt should be

We were safe, now we're paralyzed
    Suspended in flight
At this speed it makes no difference
whether we're standing or sitting in an emergency aisle (not 100% sure about that one but it sounds close)

We could be dead, complete the equation.
What is our X and N?
We have no value in these calculations
Placed on a plane, pointed straight down
Traveling at 500 feet per second
    5000 feet from the ground

How long will it take us to hit?
How fast will we start the disintegration?
Don't look now, just keep moving on somehow,
    Just keep moving

How fast will it take us to hit?
How long till we start the disintegration?

We could be safe now, forever
Floating in the clean blue air,
circling between the sun that gives us light and the ground that puts it out

And we'll kneel in the isles
Press our hands together and close our eyes
    Speak these words so softly
To the black box, it goes
    Mother, father, kelly and friends,
I want to thank you for all of your sweetness,
But I'm never, ever coming home

(I'm not sure about the last 3 lines, but it's pretty close as far as I can tell)

General CommentThanks for the help Eddy. I used most of your corrections and changed a couple things I didn't think sounded right. I can't believe I screwed up that black box line so bad. I thought he was referring to Black Hawk Down.

This is easily the best of the demo songs and one of my favorite songs by Thursday.

General CommentYou are both still wrong-
Here they are very correct, and when the real song comes out promise you'll come change the name to avoid clutter, unless of course the lyrics are very different

General CommentThanks knife. I think I've got it pretty close to correct now. I guess we can wait till May 2nd to see. I don't really get the "where I start or where I end" line, but it sounds correct.

General CommentI just heard the final version of this song and it's amazing, You could just change the title of this lyric sheet since the lyrics did not change, but you still did not fix them completely and if you don't I'll just take the liberty upon myself. Also at least put them in stanzas since reading it your way is so annoying.

Song sounds friggin terrific tho, amazing

General Comment^^^^I agree. I keep this is about my 7th time listening to it, and it gets better everytime.

I like how he starts it out "...okay. WE WERE SAFE"

General CommentI haven't heard the final version yet, I'll listen to it when I get home and make any necessary changes. Also, I didn't have it in stanzas because it's not structured in verses and a chorus, it's just singing straight through.
