(Well) Yellowcard and NFG,
These bands all sound the same to me,
The kids in trucker hats and cons,
All brainwashed to singing along.
These bands get too much fucking play,
It's all I hear all night and day.
They only ever play what sells,
Drive-Thru Records can go to hell.

I wonder what Joe Strummer'd say,
If he heard Taking Back Sunday,
Or if the Sex Pistols could hear,
Just a little Story Of The Year.
Bands that once rocked now drop like flies,
Just take a look at AFI,
Is punk rock really dead or did it,
Turn into this generic shit?

Now "Anarchy In The UK",
Is something I don't hear today,
But "The Young And The Hopeless",
Is blarring across the whole US.
It really is a crying shame,
And I think we all know who's to blame:
The good ol' folks at MTV.
Punk's just not what it used to be...

General CommentI wrote this song, and I think it's pretty tacky and drawn out, but I do like the central theme. It seems all one has to do to become a celebrated musician now-a-days is study Thursday and Saosin and wait in line with 10,000 other clones. The hell with that. Three chords are all I need to get a point across, and that's the way I like it. Also, this song has 5 chords!
