Isabelle, Isabelle did you take me out of your mind?
I've been driving all night just to see if you're alive
If we fell, could you tell?
I think I want to know his name.
It's a long way home
Will it ever feel the same?

To communicate

Isabelle, Isabelle who's it going to be at your bedside?
Fall asleep to the life you'll live until you die
Your silence setting down on me is going to kill what's still alive

It's a long way home
Will it ever feel the same?

To communicate

Isabelle, Isabelle, it's a long way home

I'm like the blue skies, blue skies
Slowly moving on
There's nothing but daylight, daylight, daylight
You can't even see the sun

It's funny how we fall apart
When I love you, you don't even start
You always try
For what it's worth, it's all i know
We always try to fight alone

Isabelle, Isabelle, it's a long way home

General CommentThis a really good indie song. Apparantly, unlike most songs, it is about a failed relationship. I was kidding about the "unlike most songs" part.

General Commentit's about failure to communicate.... which is a big problem with many relationships these days... if we actually talked properly and knew how to communicate i think we'd have way less breakups!

General Commenti think it even goes further into how he feels about her. he's resenting her for the failure but he still loves her. i love the name isabelle. i love this song. i love jonezetta.

General Commenti've been thinking about this song in a different context lately. what if it is more about a family issue? like a sibling that is making bad choices with drugs or alcohol, and not thinking of her family and how it affects them. If "isabelle" and the speaker were close, it could really take a toll on the speaker if isabelle is making bad choices. the speaker wonders what isabelle is thinking when she makes such choices and then the speaker ends up driving around looking for her just to make sure she's okay. I think when the speaker talks about communicating he/she is saying that things at home will never be the same with the choices isabelle is making. when the speaker says he's like the blue skies, etc., i think he is saying that he is just going on with life while isabelle is ruining hers. and it kills him.

if anyone has ever experienced this type of feeling, you'll see how it fits into the song. i know i can really relate to it.

General Commentrockstar: i can agree to some extent w/ you abt it being a close personal friendship type thing but i honestly think its about a failed relationship. i've been thru something like this and both my ex and i agree that this song relates completely to what happened to us. we were engaged, she cheated on me..."i think i wanna know his name" & "whose gonna b at your bedside" no doubt in my mind
