"All Too Human" as written by and Matthew James/donohoe Swinnerton....
The distance we have come has got me pinin'
For a touch up once familiar and excitin'
And though up yonder charts we might be climbing
To do it without you is very frightenin'

Now you've got a job you hoped and work for
We're both pretty much where we wanna be
We hardly get any time together
'cos now we're both fallen to disease

Human all too human
I'm at the mercy of you
You got me right were you want me
There's nothing else I can do
Human all too human
I'm all tense and strained
Just can't bring myself to tell you
I cant keep livin' like this

Comin' back to the flat now seems so lonely
Your not there so its just how I left it
The chair that you used to sit in is now empty,
Its arms can't hold me like they're meant to

Human all to human,
I'm at the mercy of you
You've got me right were you want me
There's nothing else I can do
Human all too human,
I'm all tense and strained
Just can't bring myself to tell you
I can't keep livin' like this

(human all to human)

I need you I need you, I seriously do
I'm not even drunk yet, I only had a few
I need you I need you I seriously do,
I'm not even drunk yet I only had a few

You got me right were you want me
There nothing else I can do
Human all too human
I'm all tense and strained
Just cant bring myself to tell you
I can't keep living like this

General CommentIt's a great song and I believe it's about the break up of a relationship, and the reason is because of the band's busy schedule and success, so the line 'and though up beyond the charts we might be climbing, to do it without you is very frightening'

General Commentwhy on earth is this band not bigger? This song is ace. As the guy above said, its just about the strain of the relationship as one moves into full time work and one is in a band.

General CommentThe Rakes can be our indie love affair that we needn't fill 13 year old girls in on ricky.

General CommentI always thought he sings "I've had a messy old year" rather than "I'm at the mercy of you".

But then what do I know? Nothing.
