"The Comeback" as written by Amy E Millan, Torquil John Campbell, Christopher Allen Seligman and Evan Whitney Cranley....
Just got back from the land of wrong
Cast me dreams on a fishing rod
I was tired but now I'm strong
I woke up, I rose,
I wrote this song
Back once more to entertain you
Here with the bride of the man who loved you
It gets dark and I get restless
Taken and I didn't
Always left me breathless
Hear it again
I'm glad to be here
With pop songs and why do I feel fear?
When parties die at 3 AM
Why I always have to wind 'em up again?

This is my big comeback
Angel, saboteur comeback
Come on!
Dust off the eight track
And let me in, let me in

Slept right up
And hear my story
I've dug ditches on the road to glory
I've painted signs on the path of fame
Cul de sac; "Turn around, don't come this way again!"
So introduce and a pat of wine
And now that I'm holding you I should be fine
I'll call you when I'm back in town
The sun is cold and it's going down

That's the price I pay
For being shameless

And that's the price I pay for coming back
I'm coming back

Get out of bed
I'm gonna beat your life

Get out of bed
I'm gonna beat you

General Commenti think it's 'that's the price i pay
    for being shameless'

General CommentThank you for pointing that out! Were you to the studio session for CBC Radio 3's defunct magazine?

General CommentUp in the top... unless there are printed lyrics I'm unaware of, he definitely says "land of Nod" which is a reference to, uh, being asleep. Which makes a lot more sense with the rest of that "woke up" and "dreams" stuff.

General CommentI'm sorry, but, these cannot be the right lyrics. I'm listening to it right now and there are some pretty glaring mistakes here.

"Taken and not giving always left me breathless"

"Here again and glad to be here - when pop songs end why do I feel fear?"

"step right up and hear my story"

"Some angel dust and a pint of wine"

"Now I'm fucking you and I should be fine"

"Get out of bed Ima need you all night" - this one I'm not 100% on, but, it's definitely not "I'm gonna beat your life"

General CommentThanks to all for the corrections! I guess this song is reckless lifestyle of wild partying, sex ["Land of Nod", "angel dust"], drugs, and alcohol ;). That, and reckless abandon. Ah, youth.
