Slowly drowning through my own abuse
Nothing changes anymore
Thought I’d taste the freedom long ago
Not the man I was before

Slave no more
Slave no more

Hold that bottle as I start to sink - comatose and fading slow
One more time I always tell myself
Dragged down by the undertow

General CommentConfronting/overcoming alcoholism, or some other addiction. No longer being a "slave" to it.

Sounds like most alcohol because of "Hold that bottle."

General CommentAlcoholism is an on-going dilema for Kirk, a fact we can derive from other songs such as "Failure to Delay Gratification".
Another song that we can see this in is "Lasting Dose".

It would do any man a great deal of good to experience the wealth of sorrow and torement that Kirk has went through via his lyrics as opposed to experiencing the formidable disease/condition of alcoholism. It truely is crippling and leads only to an early, lonely, death.
