The other day we talked so long about our history
And all that had gone wrong, big hardcore mystery
And images I keep, so vivid, buried deep
Of days gone by, there is no reason why

A new day, a new time
Why don't we let the kids give it a try?
A new way, a new plan
Why should we get what we don't understand?

Let us accomplishments speak loud, why shouldn't we be proud?
A lot has happened since big hardcore influence
Some even tried to steal the name but it wasn't the same
If our best days are behind, let's hope some kids will find...

A new day, a new time
Why don't we let the kids give it a try?
A new way, a new plan
Why should we get what we don't understand?

General Commentwoah ... the one song where the Seconds' age shows. such a great band with such an importance to the scene. and after a few truly bad records (sounding like U2) they found their way back on track. even "take it back..." is a great album, in general.

except for THIS song. the anthem of their dying day. a pop song at its worst. and lyrics that say nothing else but: "it's over, we're old, we don't understand the young folk of today. we used to be hardcore, but time has passed us by. so kids, just do your thing and call it hardcore, we're too old and fucked up to understand any of it anymore, anyway. and, in the end, we don't care."

    sad. pathetic.

General Comment... but maybe I'm too harsh here or don't even get the lyrics' real meaning ;)

anyway, this song sucks, let alone musicwise.

General CommentYour interpretation sounds good and it does seem sad and pathetic. Sounds like they've given up.
