I can't be held responsible for the things I say
For I am just a vessel in vain
And I can't be held responsible for the things I
see
For I am just a vessel in vain

No boat out on no ocean
No name there on no hull
And it's not a strain at all to remember
Those that I've left behind
They're all standing right here beside me now
And most of them with a smile

My ideals have got me on the run
Towards my connection with everyone
My ideals have got me on the run
It's my connection with everyone

Such free reign
For a vessel in vain

General CommentSuch a haunting song. I was first introduced to it as it opened the movie Dead Man's Shoes (which everyone should check out).

General CommentI saw this movie based on Relapser's recommendation. It is very good indeed. The song makes for a great intro.

My InterpretationIt's an analogy. A ship lost at sea is a vessel in vain. Many of us often feel lost in our lives from time to time - life being the sea, ourselves being the vessel. For whatever reason, I find some solace in this track. Just know that even the heaviest waves can be crossed, with some expert steering - and a little help.
